Yeah, we have to remember that the PTB aren't monolithic, they have their factions too, and one of those factions is perfectly happy with Gropin' Joe in office while the rest find it an existential threat (and are right). The DoJ - what a joke - finds itself unsure whether to defecate or go blind on this one.

Joe needs to go, but it will take 2/3 of a 50/50 Congress to force it, and which faction can turn that or prevent it will be the one that prevails. These are the sort of decisions that are relegated to sleazy backroom deals between even sleazier people which we are accustomed to seeing in third-world shitholes, no way to run a country like the United States but unfortunately the mire pit into which the political establishment has thrown the people who entrusted them with power.
