The Russians got knocked out of WWI when the Bolsheviks seized power from Tsar Nicholas II.

Check the 1917 timeline. You have a few events mixed up.

The only mistake is the cascade of events. The Russians did quit fighting because the Bolsheviks took over. The Russians were still fighting under Kerensky (but deserting en masse).
