Serbia on Friday reiterated a threat to intervene militarily in its former province of Kosovo if NATO-led peacekeepers there fail to protect minority Serbs from what Belgrade called the terrorist threat of Kosovo’s ethnic Albanian authorities.
In a brief televised address, the Serbian army chief-of-staff, Gen. Milan Mojsilovic, said Kosovo Serbs can no longer “tolerate the terror” of the Kosovo government, and that Serbia’s military stands ready to fulfil its tasks “in accordance” with the Serbian constitution and any orders from President Aleksandar Vucic.
Serbia has put its troops on the border with Kosovo on the highest state of alert amid a series of recent clashes between Kosovo Serbs on one side and Kosovo police and NATO-led peacekeepers, known as KFOR, on the other. In recent weeks, NATO has sent in reinforcements amid fears of an open clash between ethnic Albanians and Serbs.

By force, NATO created the “country” of Kosovo, which was part of Serbia. Russia and China do not recognize Kosovo as a country and as a result, Kosovo is not in the UN.
The parallels with Ukraine, Crimea, and the Donbas are ironic. Hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Looks like a “second front” in the Uke War to drain off NATO Troops and supplies and cut supplies of weapons to Kiev. Watch as “Russian Freedom Fighters” go to aid Slavic Brothers in the fight. Then watch as Iran opens a third front (with Syria) on US Troops in Iraq and Syria. Maybe shut down the gulf from Oil Tankers. Then, North Korea will act up—maybe shell the DMZ with a focus on US Troops. No the war is entering a new phase.
Not nearly so momentous. This stuff has been going for years in ebbs and flows. Been high tide lately.
As insane as it sounds, Albania is actually a member of NATO. Serbia is not.
Hence an attack against Kosovo by Serbia will be the equivalent of Russia invading Ukraine.

I think it’s more fundamental than that, they just don’t like Serbia. But I don’t think it’s the equivalent of Russia invading Ukraine, because Serbia is a tiny country, with less than 23k active duty and no nukes.
As skilled at Bismarck was, he’s was wrong about tha. World War I did not come out of the Balkans. It came from the parlors of the U.K., Germany, France, Russia, and Austria.
Kosovo is Serbia.
Kosovo shouldn’t be a country.
Ukraine’s counteroffensive has been a big bust, hurting support for the war in Europe, which wants an end sooner rather than later. The smell of desperation is in the air. The US and UK are driving the war. Zelensky needs a Hail Mary to keep the arms and money flowing in.
In Ukraine, the children of the elites are not the ones dying in this war. Many have fled the country. The supply of young men to serve is drying up. Desperation raises the ante. What will the US/UK/Zelensky do to reverse the tide of the war? Blow up their own nuclear power plant? What event/incident can get NATO into the war? Dangerous times.
Kosovo is not part of Albania. Kosovo is not a member of NATO.
