On Wednesday, anti-trans darlings Elon Musk and J.K. Rowling posted deeply troubled and misinformed tweets in which they both argued the term “cisgender” is essentially an ideologically radical and unfounded term, which, well, hurts their feelings. Therefore, according to Rowling, she shouldn’t have to use it, and Musk decreed the word would be categorized as a “slur” by Twitter and that Twitter users who use it will be penalized.

“Cis” (whateverthehell that means) is heterophobic.
sorry but as a scientist their delusion stems from a mental illness.
encouraging them just confounds the issue and doesn’t help alleviate their mental illness.
A minor point, but technically one would be either a gentleman or a lady, or conversely a dude or a chick.
OTOH, in spite of my dudeness I've been called a mother a number of times in the course of my long and unillustrious life, which adds some confusion to the issue.
Precisely, my good FRiend.
Using their any of their terms implies acceptance of the false premises of their nonsensical, dystopian universe.
Not quite meaningless. The intent when letter people use cis is the same as using “sub.”
They are using it to indicate a lower species as in sub-human and they see themselves as something elevated. Make no mistake it is used just like any supremacist uses such a word to indicate a lesser class.
Chemist, rename that molecule.
“To: artichokegrower
It’s not a slur, it just means normal. The way nature made you as opposed to unnatural and artificial.”
Wrong, if so then why not use the word “normal”
cis was created to avoid that very word and used to bring down a group of people and align us with an equal footing of those who are abnormal.
It (cis) removes the distinction, now why do you suppose such people want to remove the distinction between normal and abnormal? Classic “Owellion speak” to remove from the culture a concept, making a citizen unable to speak and debate the concept, therefore making abnormal no different than normal.
LGBT ABC’s - A Glossary Of Terms
People of different genders and sexual orientations have always existed, but the labels they use have changed. Many are familiar with LGBT – for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender – but that acronym has already expanded and evolved. The Weekly uses the acronym LGBTQ+ to capture the more expansive “queer,” and the plus sign for identities beyond what’s conveyed in those letters. Like the acronym, this glossary is incomplete and still evolving.
ASEXUAL: A person who does not experience sexual attraction, though they may experience romantic attraction and pursue romantic relationships. Someone who does not experience romantic attraction may identify as aromantic.
ASSIGNED GENDER AT BIRTH: The gender with which a parent or medical professional labels a baby. Transgender people do not identify with their gender assigned at birth (see below).
BISEXUAL: A person attracted to people of their own gender and of other genders. People who wish to emphasize their attraction to all genders – not just men and women – may identify as pansexual.
CISGENDER: A person who identifies with their gender assigned at birth, for example a woman who was identified as female at birth.
GAY: A person who is attracted to people of their own gender. Primarily, but not exclusively, used by men. Gay people may be cisgender or transgender.
INTERSEX: A person born with hormonal, physical or genetic characteristics that fall outside of usual definitions of male and female. Some intersex babies undergo surgery to make their genitals conform to their gender assigned at birth (many intersex advocates have spoken out against such surgeries).
LESBIAN: A woman who is attracted to other women. Lesbians may be cisgender or transgender.
LGBTQIA+: Shorthand for the queer community. Stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, asexual – and more.
NONBINARY: People who do not identify as men or women. Many use the pronouns “they” and “them” instead of “he/his” or “she/hers.” People who do not identify as men or women may also use the labels genderqueer, genderfluid or agender.
QUEER: A label that emphasizes non-normative gender identity and/or sexuality. It’s sometimes used as an umbrella term for the LGBTQ+ community. Because of this term’s history as a slur, some people prefer not to use it, while others embrace it as an inclusive word.
TRANSGENDER: An identity for people who do not identify with their gender assigned at birth. They may identify as men, women or neither (see nonbinary).
TRANSITION: The process by which a trans person aligns themselves with their gender identity. It can involve social transition (such as changing names and pronouns – words like he/she/they), medical transition (via hormones or surgery), or legal transition (legally changing names and identification cards). Transgender people may take some, all or none of these steps.
TRANS MAN: A person assigned female at birth who identifies as a man. Trans men may be straight (attracted to women), bisexual (attracted to multiple genders), or gay (attracted to men).
TRANS WOMAN: A person assigned male at birth who identifies as a woman. Trans women may be straight (attracted to men), bisexual (attracted to multiple genders), or lesbian (attracted to women).
THEY: A gender-neutral singular pronoun, as in: Jan is walking their dog. This usage is accepted by Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

“ They invented the word “cis” so they wouldn’t have to say “normal.”
The left try to categorize everything normal as a special category. That way normal isn’t normal but just one of many and everything abnormal is just as valid as everything normal.
Yes, the perverts definitely use it as a slur. Funny that to make themselves seem normal, they have to marginalize and malign the very definition of normal.
Listing LGBT’s glossary is utterly ignorant. The group that is trying to destroy those who they oppose do not get to define the rules of engagement.
You are disingenuous, dishonest, and ignorantly arrogant to even post that as some kind of standard.
Deeply troubled misinformed Noor Noman makes statements showing disconnection from reality and mental illness.
“Cis” is the N word for 99% of the population.
Gender is a literary term and there are three. The three genders are masculine, feminine, and neutral. It is far older than some quack’s corruption in the 60s.
I like to use the term eunuch. It’s an old word and there is no misunderstanding.
The slur is to need any word but normal to describe normal.
Trans and their champions are crazy nitwits advancing an evil satanic ideology.
Even if the dude looks like a lady.
