Lately one of the Little Men (dressed up with jeans, sweatshirt-hoodie pulled over his head, baseball cap, backpack) has taken up residence on a corner in a nearby neighborhood. He sits on a fire hydrant in the early morning, on his cell phone (paid for by who?), perhaps on the lookout for some day labor pickups. More recently I heard a child's voice on the other end of the line as he was on his phone, a little child. Bet he's not here legally. Is his still paying off his coyote? Who hires him?
Basically, it is for the same reason that waitresses quit steady jobs in places like Webster City, Iowa and move to places like Hollywood-- they think they are going to make it big in what their respective industry has to offer and are willing to do crap jobs for piddling pay as a stepping stone to get there.
Everytime one of them wises up enough to quit, there are at least three more ready to move in and take their places.
Who currently knows what is happening with the illegals who are recently here? When I was in IL I had a lot of contact with Hispanic illegals there. They were not all the same.
They were in fact very diverse in attitudes, lifestyle, etc.... and I did not know the Chinese very well...just the Indians, Hispanics, Europeans, Canadians.
Now 10 years in GA and I lack the vast info I had in IL.
My observation of the left in media in IL was that they were totally ignorant of reality. Immigrants had to be saints or devils. Not possible that they are ordinary humans.
I see the same in GA...Saints or Devils...only the two extremes in the media. Of course I see many more Chinese/ Koreans in Atlanta and I have no idea of themm. At work there is the lowest percentage of immigrants of anywhere I have worked in the past 65 years.
I supsect that some of what was true 1o years ago is still true. But pobably many thiings are different also.
Who actually, objectively, looks at the humans who are neither saints nor devils NOW ?
