Former National Security Adviser and U.N. Ambassador John Bolton told Newsmax on Wednesday that he hasn't made a decision yet about whether to enter the race for the Republican nomination, but he believes the Republican Party should focus on someone other than his former boss, Donald Trump.
"I think it's very important that the Republican Party move beyond Donald Trump," Bolton said while appearing on "John Bachman Now." "History is going to take us beyond Trump one way or the other. If we make him our nominee, we will lose the 2024 election. We could lose both Houses of Congress, and we could lose control of the Supreme Court if the Democrat is elected and and fills any vacancies that occur.
"The stakes are too high here," he added. "We don't need Trump's baggage, and I want to see if other contenders for the nomination make that point effectively. And I also want to see that they raise issues to the level they should be in this campaign."
Regarding the criminal charges against former President Trump over his alleged handling of classified documents found at his Florida residence, Bolton said, "I think the most important thing that could happen, if it were possible, would be to ask every American to read the indictment against Trump. Read all 40-plus pages. If I or any other executive- branch officials were charged with the things that he has done in there, I think we probably would be in jail already."
Bolton continued that the former president "is entitled to the presumption of innocence. He is entitled to all due process at trial, and the prosecution has to prove those allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. That's a very heavy burden,

A lot of interventionist things that Bolton might have approved of were going on behind the scenes in the Ike era (Guatemala, Lebanon, etc.). Also, anti-communism gave us unity and confidence in the Fifties. Neocons like Bolton are forever looking for a cause or a crusade that will recreate that spirit. It doesn’t work, but that doesn’t stop them.

He was talking tuff when he was in the UN, so I thought he was a stand up guy. Time has proven otherwise.
I am content to let my prediction play out.
None of this will keep me voting for Trump, I’m just saying that he will not get new folks like he did the first time around.
Even if he does, election fraud in the blue swing states will prevent him from being re-elected.

Say what you will about Trump, his candidacy is really getting the establishment riled and exposing them for what they are; backstabbers, weasels, snakes, traitors, et al.

Anticommunism was not a matter of finding a basis for national unity but was a necessity based on the nature of communism. It was a major threat to the freedom and survival of the United States and its allies and friends from the 1930's until the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.
The communists made gains until Reagan's election in 1980 and the adoption of his successful national security strategy. That was Reagan's doing, motivated by his experience in Hollywood and evolution from New Deal Leftist to staunch anticommunist. Even as Governor of California, Reagan was keen to understand the weaknesses of communism and figure out how it could be defeated.
The key point of Reagan's strategy was to shore up the US and NATO militaries through new technologies and weapons, revitalize the US economy, and direct concentrated economic and political pressure against the Warsaw Pact and the Soviet Union to reform or dissolve.
Until Reagan was elected, US strategy against the USSR in the Cold War was mostly passive and reactive. Our over-riding concern was to prevent a war-devastated and fractured Europe from falling to the USSR. That led to the Marshall Plan and the formation of NATO. Other interventions were undertaken, with varying results, to block aggressive Communist expansion.
I am old enough to have had an anticommunist Czech emigre official as a history professor and academic advisor at Tulane University in the early 1970s. On the side, Prof. Luza was also an area advisor for the CIA and the Mossad.
Years later, in early 1981, I had a long talk with Luza on a visit back to the campus. Notoriously pessimistic about the US chances of winning the Cold War, Luza -- a European Social Democrat who had fought both the Nazis and the Communists -- surprised me by saying that with Reagan's election, the US and the West might have a chance to win the Cold War.
Luza confirmed what I had read in an obscure political publication: if Jimmy Carter had been reelected, continental Europe, led by Germany, would have made a deal with the USSR, to finance its economy in return for cheap natural gas, abandonment of NATO, and a policy of neutrality and non-support toward the United States.
That is part of what infuriates Putin. But for the election of Reagan, the USSR might have won the Cold War and still been a going concern, dominant over Europe and with the United States poor, isolated, and on the defensive.
Btw, that was real smart of DeSantos going up against the most loved, revered and respected president in modern American history. Brilliant.

Sure, with D.C. being filled with career professional class lawyer politicians like DeSantos, considering they’ve corrupted everything in every direction, including our elections, it will be tough, but only one person has a chance, and that’s Trump.
I agree. DeSantis should stay as a state governor and hold Florida. If either Texas or Florida go purple or blue, the republican party is done, if it’s not already due to it’s spinelessness.
Trump made people look bad in both parties because he did do the things he promised. Deep state can’t have that, outsiders not part of the uniparty keeping promises. Blasphemy.
