Kari Lake Appears at Mar-a-Lago More than Melania Trump and 'Practically Lives' in a Suite (Exclusive Source)

Amid his legal woes this past spring, Donald Trump lived as usual at his members-only Palm Beach club, Mar-a-Lago. And according to a political source, he found company in Republican firebrand Kari Lake, who was spotted frequently at the club in recent months.

Lake — a former news anchor who lost her bid for Arizona governor and, like Trump, claimed that the election was rigged against her — spent a significant portion of her time at Mar-a-Lago during its open season, the source tells PEOPLE. (In the summer months, the property generally clears out and even Trump heads to his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.)

"Kari Lake is there every night ... She’s there all the time," the source tells PEOPLE. "There’s a suite there that she practically lives in."

The source adds that Trump makes most of his public Mar-a-Lago appearances "on the weekends," when, after dinner, he's said to "turn the music up" using a playlist he curates himself.

Meanwhile Trump's wife, Melania Trump, stays further from the spotlight, usually enjoying dinner with her husband on Saturday nights at the club and otherwise keeping to herself.

If you say so.

“What in her skillset or experience qualifies her to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?”

She would bring unquestioned loyalty, plus she’s sharp as a tack. If she’s elected president in’29, she would continue Trump’s programs.

She seems to be pretty impressive:

“We’re going to get back to teaching American history, not anti-American history. That doesn’t mean ignoring our flaws, but it does mean standing up to the revisionist attacks on the past progressives are using to promote their ideology.

“Instead, kids need real, quality education that starts with the basics and ensures students have a complete grasp of them, before moving on to the advanced learning they need to succeed in a high-tech, fast paced world. Schools, and students, must be held to the highest standard, and the excuses for not doing so need to stop, also.

“As Governor, I will ensure that our schools have the resources and support they need to give our kids their very best chance at a lifetime of success. I will ensure that parents have every available option to give their kids the best education possible – great public schools, great charter schools, great technical schools, and real support for homeschool parents.”

“Since Trump made Florida his permanent home, it’s more like the family decided to move there to be closer to each other.”

The family? The ones that stayed in NY?

“When the pandemic hit, states across the country – including Arizona - put the hammer down on small businesses; forcing their closure, limiting their occupancy, and requiring costly modifications to their operations. At the same time, they bent over backwards to accommodate the needs of many big box stores and online retailers. The damage those policies did will be felt for decades.

“I care far more about the local retired couple who poured their life savings into a restaurant and then had government take it away from them than I do the shareholders of Walmart or Amazon. I will never allow our state to do anything like this, ever again.

“No shutdowns, no restrictions, no favorites.

“In a public health crisis, or any crisis, it is the responsibility of the government to give our citizens the very best, most accurate information possible, and allow them to make their own informed decisions. I trust you, the people of Arizona, to do what’s best for you, your family, and your neighbors over bureaucrats who are mostly interested in protecting their careers.”

From May 31, 2023 - DeSantis: Trump’s ‘whole family moved to Florida under my governorship’. Ask DeSantis what he meant by “whole family.” He’s the one who said it.

Maybe Lake will be Trump’s VP nominee.

She maybe MAGA but she has never won a race. Nikki Haley is annoying but she's a former Governor.

I was referring to where you claimed the whole family moved there to be together.

"I was referring to where you claimed the whole family moved there to be together."

DeSantis said the whole family. Why would you move to the same state your family lives in, if you didn't want to be closer to them? You could simply stay where you are and have distance between you. Is there anything that includes Trump that you won't argue over? How does it feel to be a malcontent?

I now see your insightful take on Kari Lake, who I personally believe should be Arizona’s Governor right now—what with all of the election day snafus that have been exposed.
As for her qualifications for office, I feel her experience as a news anchor makes her quite effective as far as conveying her belief in MAGA principles and she does possess considerable charisma. Still, I doubt she’s exactly ready for the second highest office in the land as her first elected job.

Personally, my top preference for PDJT’s running mate is Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson, who is thee only candidate from a key electoral battleground state who would make a significant difference.

Again, thinking of Lake, I hope she’ll be a powerful surrogate speaker on the 2024 trail for PDJT. It would also be great if she’d be on the ballot again in Arizona, running against Sinema for the Senate.

It doesn’t surprise me one single bit.

(Of course Melania showing up with him at each and every indictment hand-in-hand supporting her man would tend to counter that). Put two and two together folks

"Nikki Haley is annoying but she's a former Governor."

So was Bill Clinton, but it's not a requirement to be eligible to run. Is Nikki Haley even eligible to run? Since Obama, nobody wants to talk about the elephant in the room.

Haley was born in South Carolina and is a citizen. Her parents were not US citizens at the time of her birth rendering her ineligible to hold either POTUS or VPOTUS..(NOT NBC)..same with Harris..NOT NBC..but nobody asks to see her papers...Why not? Is she special?
Why these foreigners are not even questioned regarding pedigree is infuriating.

It hasn’t been that long ago that Kari Lake contributed to and was a supporter of Barack Obama.

Thanks for your comment. No one from the media will ever question them, and I’m surprised that no other Republican candidate has brought it up. I’d like Trump to say something, but he’d likely be the only one, and would be attacked relentlessly by members of his own party. I remember when Rick Lazio ran against Hillary for the NY Senate. Giuliani had originally been the candidate but due to prostate cancer, he withdrew. Prior to the debate beginning, Lazio walked over to Hillary’s podium with a piece of paper, and asked her to sign an agreement that neither candidate would use soft money. She acted startled that he’d done that, and the media portrayed him as a bully for approaching her that way. You know how Hillary always liked to play the victim. With Haley being a woman, and an Indian, I’m sure the media, fellow Republican candidates and Democrats would have a field day. I’m sure that’s the main reason Trump hasn’t crossed that bridge. Anything Trump says or does is open season for attack.
