Your point absolutely stands. Anywhere there’s section 8 housing is a powder keg waiting for an excuse to happen.

Because talking about the elephant in America’s living room is considered impolite.

Yep, as the feral regress to being afro afro African American. Uncivilized home grown slugs reverting to being tribal Africans visiting America.

Liberia was created to solve many of these problems. Didn’t work. Can’t we just send the American savages, the habituals back and dropjail them in Liberia? I mean we need to make arrangements. Most of these habituals would feel right at home in the motherland. Heck! Some could even be president there.

Is it correct to say all assailants and all victims are from one minority class????? That is the usual case.

“It has been a Texas holiday since 1979...it only emacipated a relative handful of slaves in Texas on June 19. “

I have no problem with the descendants of Texas slaves celebrating their ancestors’ emancipation. It should be remembered and celebrated. But this federal holiday is just plain wrong for many reasons.

As you point out, slavery was still legal until outlawed by the border states and finally by the 13th Amendment to the Constitution. That day, December 6, 1865 is when legal slavery really ended in the U.S. So if a holiday commemorating the end of slavery was to be declared, December 6th should have been the day.

Of course far more slaves were emancipated across the nation as Union forces took over the south after January 1, 1863. I don’t know why the emancipation of a few slaves in Texas is established as some sort of milestone, except for locally.

And then there’s the name: Juneteenth National Independence Day. ‘Juneteenth’ just sounds semiliterate. I know that’s the name used by the Texas celebrants, but it doesn’t have the dignity of a national holiday.

And the second part of the name is even more disturbing in its way. We already have a national Independence Day coming up in a few weeks. Nothing national took place on June 19th and only handful of slaves got their ‘independence’. It almost as if the name was chosen to give those who are ‘uncomfortable’ with our real Independence Day an alternative.

“It’s not our guns, it’s your sons”

Should be a bumper sticker or campaign slogan.

I’m unsure what else anyone expects when you get a bunch of blacks together “celebrating”. Looting and murder are always a part of the program, apparently

Interestingly enough, the last three states to give up slavery on December 6, 1865 were ALL Union States-- Delaware, Kentucky and New Jersey. Yes, New Jersey. They were still in the process of phasing it out. You can look it up.

Maryland, Missouri and West Virginia (on the union side) all abolished it by state legislation prior to ratification as did three other states on the Confederate side-- Tennessee, Arkansas and Louisiana.

HISTORY: Not all slaves were freed by the Emancipation Proclamation, nor via Juneteenth. Only the slaves of the REBEL states were freed then. Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation was a wartime effort to split and weaken the South; he did NOT free any slaves in the Northern states. Slaves in the non-rebelling border states had to wait for the 13th Amendment, effective December 18, 1865.

Why can't they write, "Black violence erupts across the nation"?

from Illinois to Missouri is not across the nation ...
