And yet your LOL quote from the article doesn't answer the TITLE of the article, "German industry to pay 40% more for energy than pre-crisis."
"In other words," your one quote does NOT negate the subject -- 40 percent more for energy.
"In other words," your reading comprehension is filtered through your political bias, which I find not particularly conservative.
Looks like growth in the link you provided. Have anything better, like this?
From June 1:
your article is from January, which was almost 6 months ago - so the numbers predicted are no longer valid
oil peaked in April at $83/bbl, but is cheaper now ($71), and is a lot cheaper than in January 2022 ($92), just before Putin started the war
So one has an economy, which is impacted by 10 packages of sanctions, and in 2023 is doing what? Well that's thing. Bunches of differing reports and estimates, and a rather amusing statement as below from the Wall Street Journal.
One finds: "The World Bank's updated estimates reveal that as of the end of 2022, the Russian GDP dropped by 2.1%. However, it predicts that this trend will not continue, and the country's national GDP will contract by just 0.2% this year. Furthermore, the bank forecasts that the Russian economy will grow by 1.2% in 2024 and by 0.8% in 2025."

And then "Russia's economy is slated to grow 1% this year, according to JPMorgan Chase & Co. Or shrink 2.5%, if you ask the Organization for Economic .." as found in "Is Russia's Economy Growing or Shrinking? It Depends on the Forecaster"

Fluctuations, but as with US gas prices, up and down and up again. And with inflation -- as happening in Canada and the US as in Europe -- people are getting hammered.
Is inflation up there, up there? It's up down here, and it's up in Europe.
As to your "so the numbers predicted are no longer valid," I venture to say, as with climate change and all the rest, NO predicted numbers are valid, until they are no longer predicted but measured and real.
Dozens of FR ex military and hobbyists saw this issue with air cover as crippling the Ukrainian offensive.
And we saw it months ago.
How could the geniuses in DC and Kiev and Brussels not see this and stop the suicide mission?
pretty hard to suddenly replace 15% of your economy
the math doesn’t lie
Don’t ya just hate it when some foreign slick pisses on ya then tells ya it’s rain.
This smarmy canadian bunger seems to know it all.
“Christian companies get my money first, then neutral companies in that order. Anything connected to the US government or NGO’s get zilch. It takes time to research the business’s but quite worthwhile.”
When you find this data, please post it and ping me.
Thanks
Dave
I think he’s Canadien, rather than Canadian.
just know how to read -
“The World Economy No Longer Needs Russia”

Except now the price of natural gas in Europe is at the same place it was in 2015. Without Russian gas. Everyone else in the world has the business now, and Russia has lost their largest customer.
Another brilliant Russian strategic move.
You know it’s one thing to follow a forum devoted to the politics of a foreign nation.
One can learn alot about the people and their culture but when one actively participates he should be respectful.
It is not his country!
He is not a taxpayer or citizen.
I have seen this clown question the patriotism of several posters.
That gets my goat.
Alot of the Ukie funky bunch are foreign nationals or expats.
I can agree to disagree with my fellow conservative/Christian Americans, but a foreigner pontificator is just a bridge too far for me!
"GDP is expected to decrease by 4.5 percent in 2022 and by a further 3.6 percent in 2023, as the economy continues to contract due to the impact of sanctions, including those coming into force at the end of this year (notably the EU partial oil ban and to a lesser extent the oil price cap)."
What part of that statement do you think supports your claim that the World Bank "said that Russia's economy is growing"?
Are there any other groups of people that you hold such bigotry for? Or is that what your boss pays you to post?
Yes, he’s more then annoying.
I feel rather the same way about the expat this or that poster.
And those Ukrainians are really great strategists aint they?
“Lets start an offensive without air cover to prep the battle ground.”
BTW..I was told that the Russians are using NNEMPs to eliminate the Ukrainian drones/electronic systems.
Still trying to find that out.
"Meanwhile, Russia has continued drone and missile strikes against Ukrainian cities as it seeks to deplete their stocks of expensive air-defense munitions and keep such systems deployed away from the eastern front line. "
Nothing says "our military is very strong" like launching terror attacks on civilians to keep the other side's air defenses busy. That sounds like a tactic of desperation to me.
Attacking civilians to affect military operations elsewhere is the kind of thing Al Qaeda, ISIS, or the PLO did, and they were denounced as terrorists.
It is sad to see people here on Free Republic cheering on terrorists today.
