If indeed this Poltava psychologist at age 41 had never seen cases like this, she is naive. As other comments in this thread observe. castration has an extremely long history with Islam over the centuries making it a cultural phenomenon. But rightly observed, transsexual surgery is itself castration, with the Western media acting as cheering squad for it. War crimes too? Of course. Over centuries.

One finds a Anzhelika Yatsenko in Bonn, studying in Germany. One finds another Anzhelika Yatsenko as a name is found most easily in the English language press in the moment,
One finds the name -- and "never heard anything so horrible" -- in repeated news on Twitter. Yahoo, Daily Mail, Mirror UK, The Australian, Daily Express, Latestly, NY Breaking, Inkl, Facebook reposts, Democratic Undergsound. Coverage of the story spread from Times UK very quickly.

WHFP is "Woman Health & Family Planning" something like Planned Parenthood.
And surgical abortion is the cutting up of a fetus for extraction, which one might consider the phrase, "never heard anything so horrible." Or the alternative view, "She had the abortion and said she was pleased with the medical care she received." Because castration is awful but fetal destruction is pleasing. And "care." From that article: "Men have also suffered from sexual violence, with reports of Russian soldiers castrating captured Ukrainian troops.
Yatsenko told IPPF that she is treating two male patients who were castrated by the Russian army while they were prisoners of war. “These cases have really touched me,” she said. “These soldiers do not want pity but are in severe need of psychological care.”
