Jordan Isaiha Lopez’s ankle monitor had been a condition of his bond following an attempted home invasion six months earlier
A Texas man was sentenced to 35 years in prison Thursday for a murder he committed five years ago, after he removed his ankle monitor that was a condition of probation for a previous crime.
Jordan Isaiha Lopez, 22, fatally shot Austin Balogun, 19, on July 5, 2018, during a robbery at Balogun’s home in Cypress, Texas, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office said in a release.
"We are already dealing with rampant gun crime, and the situation gets worse when criminals can simply remove the ankle monitors they are supposed to wear as a condition of bond," Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said in a statement Saturday. "It is a tragedy that a young man lost his life to someone who took advantage of the system to commit murder while free on bond."

Ankle monitors are the only thing dumber than probation. But hey, they make the lefty freak show feel good about themselves.

When you talk to people who are advocating unrealistic policies to stop criminal activities it is apparent, they are unable to imagine the mindset of criminals. Therefore, if they can’t put themselves into the other person’s personality and worldview, they substitute their own. Then things like midnight basketball or giving away free meth become viable solutions. These people are dangerous in that they facilitate crime rather than deter it. Their simplistic worldview causes them to get into politics so they can implement what to them is the obvious solution.

One firing squad one less murderer one less problem
In the old times it wasn’t much longer than a week or so after sentencing. So I figure thats about right. I think sometimes part of that time was needed because they may have had to construct something to do the execution.
