Retail needs to move to a “Service Merchandise” style.
Service Merchandise stores would have you look at single, mostly unworkable samples, order, then inspect product when it comes down the conveyor, then purchase or return prior to purchase.
The only change for today is you view products online, order, then view and purchase in secure cubicles.
Service was an interesting concept. My brother worked at one of those stores for a long time.
It really would cut down on the overhead for businesses — employees, retail floor space vs warehouse space, etc.
