Wars are lost when the civilians in the DoD and executive branch set the policy. As for the flag officers, on TV and in the media you only see the perfumed princes. They are not anything to brag about for sure but they too shall pass. At least they have to retire before they are 80 years old unlike our senile leadership.

The good work is accomplished and battles are won by the grunts, staff NCOs and company grade officers. They are the shakers and movers and innovators in the military. Give them the means and they will win.
