Trump seems to do everything he can to hurt himself with the law. Even if he’s not guilty, he does things in such a way to hurt his legal chancer. Why did he have to brandish a document and say he never declassified it? I’m not sure how probative it is, but I can’t imagine any lawyer saying it wouldn’t matter if their client did it. And every lawyer, for good reason, tells their client to remain silent. Is anyone going to argue that’s bad advice by any lawyer?
Trump isn’t fighting for himself, he’s fighting for the country. Understand that and it’ll make more sense to you. Fighting for himself , maybe say nothing, fighting for the country, flaunt thr fact that these are the rules and the government should have absolutely no power because he broke no laws. It’s always easier not to fight. Doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. This is why Trump is a legend and when he’s long gone he will be remembered for what he’s chosen to do at this stage of his life.
Did he actually say he never declassified it though? He said as President he could have. Maybe he did. And if he did, it doesn't matter what he says about it now.
If he *HAS* it, it is defacto declassified. Everything Donald Trump took with him is declassified so far as i'm concerned. Don't care what he says. He *HAS* the documents, so by his action of taking them, they are his, and legally so.
Is there proof he actually showed the classified document to the interviewer? I don't recall any of the people in the room with him at the time say they got to put their hands on it, and looked it over. He could have been waving a totally different document, and allude that it was the classified document he was talking about.
Did the journalist see more than the cover page? If he did, that is not mentioned in the indictment.
Trump brandished the document while making the point that General Milley was urging Trump to attack Iran, that Milley wrote the battle plan without orders, and that Trump refused.
Milley claimed the exact opposite, that Trump ordered the battle plan, and that Trump wanted to attack Iran.
Who is telling the truth? I will side with Trump - until proved otherwise.
