Our Lexus is turning 20 years old this month.
I just had the 2 year smog check done, and it passed.
I’m 84 and my wife is 82. If the car can last 2 more years we will be satisfied.
Big O has done an excellent maintenance job on the car.
The pushback will come but too late. At the moment 94% of cars purchased are ICE cars. Most are oblivious to the fact that these cars are in the process of being regulated out of existence. The car makers know it and are migrating to that reality. When the impact fully hits the dealers it will be too late to stop it.
“I hope Russia bombs Davos in January. The elimination of autos is an existential threat to their main source of income.”
I would be happy with bombing the airport where they arrive and taking out their business jets. Then telling them to take public transit back to wherever they came from.
“Just when the Red Chinese and India Indians can actually afford these things in serious numbers, European elites try to tell them no.”
Very true, and they seem to believe that World War 3 is preferable to the planet than Chinese and Indians being permitted to drive cars.
By 2050 I won’t give a crap. And Kraut Schwab will be long dead.
Sure wouldn’t miss the WEF
I may be too. I’ll be 84. But getting to the next 30 is going to be ugly with these fools in charge.
This reduction to which china and india builds a slew of new coal burning plants to toss 5 billion tons out there in thanks. The untrapped, unfiltered coal smoke just heads east to the US so Asia can breathe easy.
And hopefully many Democrats in Congress and
the Biden Regime will be attending.
The elites don’t need cars.
They fly everywhere in private jets!
“the 15 minute city” concept. The idea isn’t to pry your hands from steering wheels, but to make you hate having to use them. One example - the re-working of the main roadways in New Haven CT imagines Oslo or Copenhagen. In the past year they doubled the traffic lights and added crosswalks and speed bumps. Pure folly, except it costs us all freedom and money. The panhandlers love it”.
The vehicle traffic in N. California is making driving even short distances a real PIA.
It seems like every trip takes longer, with more traffic and construction everywhere.
We just got back from my wife’s bi monthly hair appt. The drive each way used to take 10-15 minutes. Now, it is a 20-25 minute drive or worse.
Relatives in 4 other N. Cali cities are facing the same increases in travel time. One just finished college and is back home in a new job and basically the same drive as last
year. Except, that previous 10 minute drive is now 20 minutes on a good day.
My wife has several relatives in the Champagne/Urbana area, their commute times are worse on a weekly basis.
One of her brothers is retired, and his wife isn’t ready yet. Her commute time since Covid has doubled on a good day and tripled on a regular day.
They are thinking about moving back to their home town about 150 miles north. She can do most of her job online.
Family compounds in/on a cul de sac or off a country road are happening in a lot of N. California areas and mid west areas.
