Speaker McCarthy is from California, as is Schiff. That one quarter of the censure opponents were from California may indicate intimidation or some quid pro quo, e.g., that the five traitors will not be seriously challenged by the Democrats next year.

You are not going to get anyone of note to challenge them in the primaries. That’s where it starts. McCarthy didn’t even get a token opponent where the voters could have put him on notice.

Think Thune-senate. The GOP had a challenger. Name is Whelan. All he ever did was lose the house race to Stephanie Herseth. A real stiff. Are we obligated to carry the bad candidates over the finish line? California Republicans might have been able to do that for Wm. Simon Jr. in 2002-a really bad candidate. Florida Democrats came close to doing that for that queer black Talahasse mayor. Reminds me of our victory at Midway. A Japanese submarine upped it’s periscope just a little too late to see the American fleet advancing. Could have changed the results of the entire war.
