For those who don't know, taqiyya is the practice of lying to further the islamic faith. It includes everything up to and including lying about one's muslim faith, and committing un-islamic acts to 'blend in' with non-muslims (all the way up to pretending to be non-muslim and condemning islam!).

Put simply, it's a blanket permission to do *anything*, no matter how deceptive, so long as the practitioner thinks it will advance islam.

Also put simply, it means non-muslims can *never* trust muslims as a group, because it is a matter of faith to them nothing is beyond the pale, so long as the person committing it thinks it somehow advances islam.

Taqqiya is how some of the 9/11 hijackers justified being clean-shaven, drinking alcohol, doing drugs, and claiming to be Christian so as to further their pre-attack deception.

I've known several muslims who as far as I could tell were honorable men. But I can never trust them completely, for their faith sanctions the utmost in deception and depravity, so long as they think it helps them punish "unbelievers" like me.

(And perhaps this ultimate flexibility in morals that muslim extremists practice can help you understand why they get along so well with the political Left- all is subjective to both groups; neither holds moral objectivity. They both effectively believe that 'the ends justify the means...')
