Republican presidential candidate and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy announced his campaign has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) demand upon the Department of Justice (DOJ), according to a June 12 Tweet.
Former President Donald Trump’s indictment relating to his alleged mishandling of classified documents was unsealed Friday. He is to be arraigned in Miami on Tuesday. Ramaswamy’s request asks for any records held by the DOJ in relation to Trump’s indictment. He calls out U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and DOJ Special Council Jack Smith.
My campaign just filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) demand to uncover *exactly* what the White House communicated to Merrick Garland & Jack Smith about the unprecedented indictment of a former U.S. President & Biden’s disfavored opponent in this election. The “DOJ is being politicized and weaponized against the political opponents of the sitting President of the United States. The existence, timing, and content of the indictment all necessitate both this request, and, one would hope, a completely open and forthright response,” the FOIA request reads.
The presidential candidate previously criticized the DOJ, accusing them of fostering two separate “tiers of justice.” (RELATED: ‘For Goodness Sake!’: Jim Jordan Breaks Down Major ‘Flaw’ In Argument Against Trump)
“We can’t have two tiers of justice: one for Trump, another for Biden. One for Assange, another for Manning. One for BLM/Antifa, another for peaceful protesters on Jan 6,” Ramaswamy tweeted June 8. “This is an affront to every citizen: we cannot devolve into a banana republic where the party in power uses police force to arrest its political opponents. It’s hypocritical for the DOJ to selectively prosecute Trump but not Biden. ”
Ramaswamy also declared that if elected, he will pardon the former president. “Reading that indictment and looking at the selective omissions of both fact and law, I’m even more convinced that a pardon is the right answer here,” he said during a recent interview with CNN, calling the indictment “deeply politicized.”
Ramaswamy called the indictment “not the right answer for our nation,” despite saying his race would be easier if Trump were eliminated from the running.
If this guy becomes VP, the GOP will run the presidency for more than a decade.
too bad the spineless GOPe doesn’t fight like this guy
Democrats are LAW-LESS because Republicans are BALL-LESS!
If the GOP gets another crack at the presidency and moves immediately to clean up voter fraud, you can wave goodbye, for the most part, to the evil dems for YEARS.
Congress cannot intervene. The courts cannot intervene. The document classification power used by Trump comes directly from the Constitution.
I was just reading about the $290 million JP Morgan settlement related to Epstein.
The female New York State Attorney General Letitia James and United States Attorney General Merrick Garland have the means to find out who the Epstein females are.
Each Epstein female can be presented with a picture book of known Epstein visitors as they looked two decades ago.
These Epstein females could be asked to pick out the men they had sex with to prevent more victimization by those men.
The Epstein females, New York Attorney General Letitia James and United States Attorney General Merrick Garland have a duty to prevent further child victimization.

RE: his non-citizen status might have been dismissed by voters.
I am not getting your point. What does this have to do with the Trump indictment?
Vivek Ramaswamy has some pretty good ideas in general:
Use the military, including drones, to secure our southern border
End affirmative action: repeal Lyndon Johnson’s executive order 11246
Protect American children: ban addictive social media under age 16 & gender confusion “care” for minors
Make political expression a civil right & end unlawful DEI indoctrination
Withhold federal funding for cities that refuse to protect Americans from violent crime
Drill, frack & burn coal: abandon the climate cult & unshackle nuclear energy
Put Americans back to work: dismantle Lyndon Johnson’s failed “Great Society”
Incentivize trade schools over hollow college degrees (sorry, gender studies majors)
Launch deregulatory “Reagan 2.0” revolution: cut >75% headcount amongst U.S. regulators
Limit the U.S. Fed’s scope: stabilize the dollar & nothing more
Hold the CCP accountable for Covid-19: use all financial levers
Achieve semiconductor independence: secure our modern way of life
Stop CCP affiliates from buying American land
Use our military to annihilate Mexican drug cartels: defend against the CCP’s opium war
Ban U.S. businesses from expanding in China until the CCP stops cheating
Shut down toxic government agencies: Dept of Education, FBI, IRS, and more (and rebuild from scratch when required)
End civil service protections for bureaucrats: 8-year term limits instead
Eliminate federal employee unions: repeal JFK’s executive order 10988
Move >75% of federal employees out of Washington D.C. & end pro-lazy “remote work” option
Cut wasteful expenditures: White House, not individual agencies, will submit budget requests to Congress
Pardon defendants of politicized prosecutions: Trump, Mackey, and peaceful Jan 6 protesters
Hold Congress accountable for “hush money” fund: taxpayers should not subsidize sexual misconduct
Publish the Jeffrey Epstein client list: government should not use police power to shield select elites
Rescind Biden’s ESG rule for retirement funds: get politics out of corporate America and capital markets
Oppose CBDCs: fight all plans for digital currency, a dangerous scheme for government control over our bank accounts

Has he made his “other” announcement yet ?
RE: Has he made his “other” announcement yet ?
What are you anticipating or hoping for?
After his first announcement which implies he is still running, nothing. If he still intends to drop out at some point, which may never happen, I don’t think it will be until after the debates. He wants national exposure first. He’s worked hard to get a podium at the debates. He is not just going to throw it away.
Ramaswamy is one of two Republican candidates for President in Miami today. All the others are elsewhere. The number one news story in the entire world is in Miami. There are more media and cameras in Miami than at any other Republican presidential campaign event. Let’s just say Vivek has a bit of common sense.
He is a US citizen, born and raised in Cincinnati......There is absolutely no question about his eligibility to run for president.
This topic has been discussed here over the years ad nauseum......
Not that I want him to drop out. I think the debates will be a great place for him to ‘bond’ with Trump in front of a national audience. I just hope they don’t clash with each other too much or do so in a friendly way.
RE: He wants national exposure first.
I personally do not think that Vivek has a chance of winning the nomination and HE KNOWS IT.
Like Herman Cain, Pete Buttigieg, Dr. Ben Carson, etc., they are running for NAME RECOGNITION. At best, they are angling for appointment to head a department should Trump win. Even VP is a long shot.
His display of Constitutional issues that define Americans might allow forgiveness of his lack of NBC (nat born citizen) in the minds of voters. And if Trump's lawyers blow it and fail to mention the case today in their plea for dismissal, and Trump figures that out and corrects it, he may have a reliable VP for a change.
You could be right. But I am curious why you think that. I can think of three reasons why Trump would NOT pick Vivek.
When voters see substance I don't think they will care that Vivek isn't a NBC in THEIR minds. Heck, they might even look up the definition of NBC and discover to their happy surprise that they have been wrong and that Vivek is in fact a NBC !
