I heard the government wants to push for a speedy trial.. why? what’s the hurry?

"Speedy Trial" is a Constitutional protection for the accused to protect them from a delayed trial that keeps them incarcerated and drains them of their wealth.

"Speedy Trial" is not a tool of the prosecution. The defendant can waive their right to a speedy trial if they need more time, but the prosecution cannot demand one, unless the Constitution is now fungible.
