S0, the Biden admin has been given preemptive warning from the CCP??? If Biden was really opposing the CCP he would not be making such a move at this time, and if it was necessary it would be thwarting the CCP using U.S. miltary assets sent to Taiwan for facilitating such an effort, raising the stakes for the CCP to consider.
What a lot of folks don’t know is that there are elections in Taiwan in January next January 2024.
The currently governing DPP leans towards independence the opposition Kuomintang leans towards the mainland.
Heck the election results may give Taiwan to the CCP on the mainland.
The US response to a “takeover” by China of Taiwan I expect to be economic sanctions backed by a sea blockade.
In the 1930’s Japan waged war on China with a strategy that included seizure of seaports to cut off China from trade with the outside world.
A new strategy based on that war is likely.
The US game will be to make the “takeover” of Taiwan (previous US presidents called Taiwan a part of China) a “hollow victory” for China.
We have never had an admistration yet, who could tell the world what the issue is and is not.
The issue is not a “national interest” issue for the people of China. It is a political manufactured issue of importance to the CCP, period. It would not be an issue between two democracies - one in Taiwan and one on the mainland.
The only failure is not about true national Chinese intrest, and is only about the failure of total political control by the CCP. Its all a matter of “how dare the people of Taiwan escape political control by the dictator ship on the mainland. The CCP hates that because Tawian remains a beacon for a much different political system for the people of China.
That, not “national interest” of the Chinese people is what the issue of Taiwan is all about.
Perhaps you forgot. Biden offered to evacuate Zelensky. But he and the Ukrainians said, no, this is our country, and we will fight.
Regarding Afghanistan, we had a different picture. There, the people were unwilling to fight. As I said in my original post, people who aren’t brave don’t deserve to be free. Freedom isn’t something we Americans owe anybody (other than ourselves). We didn’t owe Afghanistan to fight for their freedom. As it became clearer and clearer that those sorry sons of bitches weren’t worth one drop of American blood, it became clearer and clearer that we had to get the hell out of that mess.
While we have an interest in the entire world being free, we must be very careful about where we commit ourselves militarily, #1, because we owe it to ourselves and our current allies to preserve what we have; and, #2, because we should be confident that we will eventually win.
Astonishingly alarming how a Biden Administration has destroyed a relatively stable world with norms and boundaries.

Taiwan spends a lot on defense, a lot of it in the U.S. I know that in 2018, at a meeting between USAF representatives and the Taiwan Air Force, TAF asked what the U.S. wanted TAF to do in the case of war with China. USAF response: Stay out of the way. A lot has changed since 2018.
If they invade prior to November 2024, Dems are toast.

Did you ever watch the Cream Reunion Concert at Royal Albert Hall? One of the interview subjects is a fan who bought a ticket for the Murray the K rock shows and was able to stay all day to Cream, the Who and others several times-—for some tiny pittance of money. Murray had to lock the rock stars into the dressing rooms to keep them from escaping to rest from the exhausting long hours of concerts.
