You have to wonder what possessed Cracker Barrel to support Pride Month. Few, if any, hipster types or country club denizens patronize their restaurants. What was management thinking?

The Management of Cracker Barrel probably consists of "hipster types," too!

They were probably forced into it by institutional investors. Blackrock and Vanguard are the largest stockholders.

Basically, Cracker Barrel didn't have a choice.

Generational turnover - the same, by the way, that happened to the marketing team at Bud Light. New management in both cases failed to appreciate what got them there and treated their existing customer base as an inalienable birthright.

I don't get the impression that anyone is treating the current rolling boil as any sort of victory other than that at last we're fighting back. That may be a sort of victory of its own but nothing is even close to over.

The next battleground will be one that has already been carefully prepared by the corporate ruling class - the leadership at Vanguard, Blackrock, etc. They're pretty well insulated from dissatisfaction from their own customer base and appear to have decided to ride this out. A lot of aristocrats in France made that mistake in 1789.
