Haven’t the Chinese been bringing in their military front people by paying cartels to swim them across the border?
Biden allowing an open border is worse than handing over our industrial base over to the Chinese. Well, maybe not worse - but close.
Russians aren’t Commie Soviets, not the same thing.
There are thousands of Chinese scientists who came to the U.S. to be trained and work, most becoming U.S. citizens or permanent residents, but remaining loyal to the CCP. They are part of an enemy Fifth Column cadre in the U.S. operating on behalf of Chinahttps://t.co/l6ODU4i3tH— Dr. Lawrence Sellin (@LawrenceSellin) June 12, 2023
Yes Trump seems to understand that better.
I would like to know how many politicians, Retired generals etc moved out our Industry, manufacturing to the CCP and KNEW it would weaken us? Even better how many of them got big kickbacks of cash.
I can’t think of a better reason for punishment if they did.
Agree!
They want a type of colonial dominance. War breaks things and damage the merchandise.
Chinese naval ships and aircraft can go around Taiwan, but they can be intercepted from Taiwan. Taiwan is simply in the right place to be in the way.
On the other hand, if China holds Taiwan its got an unsinkable aircraft carrier from which it can threaten the established shipping lanes.
We are no longer the military power of the world we were since 1944 or so. ==
So what? America is good enough to defend her shores. DO doubt in it?
But if they can’t anymore invade on other side of globe then it might even better. American money and life will be spared.
Just not our borders…🤣
Then you don’t understand that the Cold War isn’t about communism.
Yeah, ok.
“Chinese naval ships and aircraft can go around Taiwan, but they can be intercepted from Taiwan. Taiwan is simply in the right place to be in the way.”
Yes, but the original question was about interdicting international shipping. China can send ships around Taiwan and intercept shipping east of Taiwan: Taiwan won’t know what China’s intents are until it happens. And if Taiwan makes a pre-emptive move, that gives China a casus belli (which is what it would want, anyway). In such a scenario, China is holding a good hand.
Japan has much less to fear from Chinese threats vs its trade (which China has made) if Taiwan is there. Its got much more to fear from a scenario where China has established bases in Taiwan. Its partly a matter of range, and partly a matter of location.

That’s why I said that Chinese bases on Taiwan would make Chinese adventures a lot easier for China.
But the grievous list of an increasingly “Wokelitary” which is called to defend an increasingly USS (United States of Sodom) with its Wokeducation goals continues to grow: https://freerepublic.com/focus/news/4160036/posts?page=51#51
The war would solve one problem: Offshoring of industry. We would HAVE to make our own stuff again.
Playing with toys stamped made in China has a subtle effect on kids. It grooms them into thinking that China must be great because they make everything.
The Chinese would blockade Taiwan. Nothing in, nothing out. Take about 3 months and they would surrender.
