A proposed California bill treats a parent’s refusal to affirm their child’s “gender identity” as against the child’s health, safety, and welfare in custody disputes.
The bill, AB-957, states that “in making a determination of the best interests of a child in a [custody dispute], the court shall, among any other factors it finds relevant and consistent with [the law], consider the following: the health, safety, and welfare of the child” and that those factors “include[s] a parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity.”
The legislation’s text, which was updated earlier this week to specifically include parental affirmation of gender identity as part of the “health, safety, and welfare” of a child, has already passed the State Assembly. Opponents of the bill are concerned the wording would open the door to “non-affirmation being treated as abuse,” the Washington Free Beacon reported.
“When you say that gender affirmation is in the child’s best interest for health, safety, and welfare, it takes nothing to say [non-affirmation] is now abuse—because you’re not taking care of the health, safety, and welfare if you’re not affirming them,” Erin Friday, a San Francisco attorney and co-lead of the parent coalition Our Duty told the outlet.

What about the cases where a person identifies as a handicapped person. Will the parents be arrested if their child wants their legs cut off or blinded.
And the parent tries to stop their child’s surgery to have their legs cut off.
Affirmation actually goes against science.
Fact: for young boys afflicted with Klinefelters Syndrome, some may experience gender dysphoria because their endocrine system is not functioning properly (almost every legitimate case of GD has an underlying medical condition - typically some defect in the endocrine system). Treating these boys with testosterone can help eliminate the gender dysphoria.
Under “affirmation,” they are DENIED a treatment that can cure them. Evil, agenda-driven crap that goes completely against science.
Further fact, some kids can experience minor boughts of GD during puberty (again, the endocrine system is off); however, this typically eases on its own somewhere between 18 and 24 years old when the adrenals stop overproducing and puberty ends.
We should be DELAYING medical intervention until much later, not butchering kids.
I’ve said it many times before, as the parent of a trans child in the 1.7%, the number of kids identifying as trans is statistically impossible. If they don’t have an underlying medical condition, then it’s a mental disorder and should be treated as such.
Fight back on this insane agenda. Use science to defeat them.
