Lol...I compare our level of cluelessness back then to that of our founders re: their underestimation of the level of evil that would occur in this nation. They assumed certain things might happen re: corruption, but had no idea just how bad some humans could or would become.
I can’t fault the founders for their lack of insight...when I, myself, am guilty of that same lack of insight....but with even more to ‘go by’ than they had at the time.
