If my children were dropped in the same situation they would probably survive.

Any place in north America other than a few desert areas I would not even lose sleep

A 12 months old for 6 weeks... Wow! The older kids took amazing care of the younger ones, especially considering they endured a crash and the heartbreak of losing their mother in the crash.
