Wishful thinking MeganC... just wishful thinking. The Ukrainian military has been trained and equipped by NATO and the US. They are a NATO proxy force. We are currently witnessing a preview of what would happen if woke NATO countries sent their troops to fight in Ukraine.
Russia is wining not just on the battlefield but also in the battle for the hearts and minds of the 90% of people in the world who do not live in areas where Western media is king. They see Russia who has less than half the economic power of California alone standing up to the West and it is inspirational to them.

Yes this is a very alarming development. I was expecting Europe to put up more resistance to ramping up this war any more than it already is. The neocons are desperate now because Ukraine is on its last legs and can’t hold out much longer with their diminished troop strength. Neither the people of the US or Europe want this but our elites don’t seem to care what the people want.
I'm old enough to recall when waving threats of nuclear Armageddon was a tool of the anti-American left. Now the paleocon right makes the same arguments.
I do think the US should withdraw from NATO. Being concerned about WW3 and the eventual use of nukes is not histrionics. On the contrary it’s a very real scenario should NATO troops enter Ukraine.
