A nuclear attack might be one of the biggest and scariest threats facing humanity, and will probably stay that way for the coming year. Even so, in the US, a medical experiment was recently carried out that aims to prevent the harmful effects of radiation on the body in the case of a nuclear attack.

I think preventing things from vaporizing is unrealistic. Moving further from the burst location will certainly result in diminishing effects. I suppose at some point the damage can be repaired, but not any done at the molecular level.
I haven’t eaten Pacific seafood since 2012, and I won’t for the rest of my days.
If the nuke was too close try to enjoy those last few seconds.
