Mearsheimer has several talks on what is really going on here and who the bad guys are and what happens when you get in a war with someone who has a 10:1 artillery advantage over you. But Mearsheimer is apparently a Putin lover too so I have to rely on the Post to tell me who the bad guy is, I guess. One thing we are not to do is to make up our own minds about who the bad guys are. It sure isn’t the bully shoving his own team around to keep them in line.

Mearshimer ignores military factors beyond numbers of guns and shells. If that was a dispositive factor France would have won in 1940. He has a track record of motivated reasoning lately.

Note that he once also advocated for Ukraine retaining its own nuclear deterrent.

And it seems that the Russian guns and shells aren’t what they used to be, anymore. They have been replacing 152mm long range guns with 120mm mortars, without the capability of counterbattery fire. That is because they haven’t got the materiel or logistics to support them, especially since they can’t mass munitions, transport, or guns in the “Himars zone”.
