The straw man here is “utterly destroyed the enemy” - who said that? The Russian army has been repeatedly thwarted, suffered defeats and has lost many men and much materiel, but its not been “destroyed”. It’s not going to be destroyed even if it is defeated again.

Consider the German army after Falaise, a great defeat. It was not destroyed. It was chased out of France, but recovered sufficiently to man the Westwall/Siegfried line. In all that time the Allies continued to pour materiel and reinforcements into France and Belgium.

This last is bizarre -

” - you are willing to force people to be a liberal democracy at gunpoint so long as they vote your way.”

Where did you get that?

That's not what I read. They are on their last bandolier trying to stave off a counterattack on their border. Read it right here on Free Republic I did.
