Not to mention the business profits from insurance and they get a tax write off resulting in lower corporate taxable income from reduced declared profits. Lower taxes mean higher profits for the execs/shareholders. There is literally a monetary incentive for them to allow shoplifting.

Meanwhile hard work is punished while criminality and profiteering are being rewarded and encouraged.
