Honestly, I don’t think money would give the Russians the ability to build more tanks or ships. The skills and resources for the Soviet military machine were pillaged by the oligarchs and they’re not coming back.

Militarily speaking Russia is in a ‘doom spiral’ where their military is degrading to a more sustainable level for a country with about the same GDP as Canada.

OK, point made.

If that is the world view, then we should declare WWIII and bring out every nasty weapon we have and unleash it on Russia.

But think of the consequences. At that point, the US would be a target.

My point is that by the US continually sending arms and raising the quality and technology of those arms to Ukraine, Putin views the US as killers of Russians. Carried too far, that will lead to bad things for the US.

The US must be very careful as to how far we can go without making things worse.

A lowly prole will do his typing.

“Cute little stunt these guys are pulling but the Russians will find them and when they do it won’t be pretty.”

Maybe they want to be found. What do you think the purpose of this incursion is? Is it just a distraction or is it a meaningful attempt to seize control of Belgorod? Does Putin remove forces from defending something else to devote to the defense of Belgorod?

As to what happens to Russian citizens who get caught bearing arms against Putin that’s pretty obvious.

“(Putin) has some nasty weapons”

So we’ve been hearing for the past sixteen months. Where are they?

That LED screen looks like it is from a conference with Putin. Putin does not get on the internet. He gets his information from Russian television and what his flunkies feed to him.

Ever see clips of the Russian prime 6PM news? It is obvious that those media personalities are performing for fake Tsar Vald.

“Self defense is one thing, crossing borders is quite different.”

IF you read my posts, you know I’m not a rah-rah-send-lots-of-money-to-Ukraine type of guy.

But Russia started this and Ukraine has the absolute right to attack into Russia in response.

Caveat. I don’t know if this is just symbolic, or a real threat to Russian rear lines, or a bunch of GD lies and if so, who’s lying this time. The only point of this post is that nothing should limit Ukraine from attacking into Russia.

“””If that is the world view, then we should declare WWIII and bring out every nasty weapon we have and unleash it on Russia”””

You continue not making any sense, although I think you did continue to defend your bizarre view that the first neighbor who attacks the country next door wins immunity and that all violence must be limited to the people, cities, and soil being invaded.

Vietnam started when we allowed the French to keep their Indochina colonies.

I was not referring to a specific event in Vietnam that this follows.

I was referring to the little bit at a time, one more thing, just this ...whatever

And one little step at a time we got in too deep to do anything other than go all out war.

The problem is that most of us do not see far enough ahead, in spite of all of the warnings, the history of man...we do not demand that our government change course.

By the way, before you tell me we are going to crush Putin and Russia, tell me when Russia has been conquered and occupied by an enemy force.

For a starting point: https://www.rbth.com/history/331602-which-countries-have-conquered-russia

Ethnic Russians in Donetsk and Lugansk would rather risk their lives than live as slaves under a Ukrainian nationalist regime who installed.

That's what neocon meatheads like you don't grasp or won't acknowledge. We fomented an illegal coup, setoff a civil war and it's those in ethnic Russian part of the country that were the victims.

Kadyrov’s Chechen blocking troops are not letting Prigo’s troops retreat back to Russia from Bakhmut.

So was I, Vietnam was fine under three full presidential administrations and part of a fourth, we were tying up the Communists and Russia and China without any big costs to us other than a few rare deaths among a few 100 advisors, JFK did a deliberate act and shipped troops into Vietnam and got us involved in a war.

My concern is that crossing the border and invading Russia using weapons with “Made in USA and Supplied With Enthusiasm” plainly displayed on them will start WWIII with the US a major target.

Lady Graham and his big mouth and endless love for the TV cameras is very dangerous.

You mean like Putin sending his army across an internationally recognized border?

Ukraine seemes to be copying Putin’s “proxy war” methods. Good for them. That’s what Putin has been doing it in Eastern Ukraine for nearly a decade or more.
