Just pointing out that rural stores *are* more vulnerable, even if Bob the clerk has a sawed off 870 under the counter. Bob generally doesn’t live there and he has to go home sometime, soooo...

I was thinking more of the cultural change here in America. The rural areas are the last that will be affected, or shall we say in this case, infected.

The cities are cesspools because the democrats in control, in order to keep that control, have thrown morality to the wind. They have pandered to the minorities, who commit the majority of crimes, that the criminal justice system, including the police, are inherently racist institutions. This was a fringe belief that became their norm due to the Ferguson and George Floyd BLM riots.

This has spread to the suburbs, especially the rich ones, because the whites living there have succumbed to the belief that they are systemically racist and will do almost anything to not wear that scarlet letter R. How can withstand these charges, when the talking heads on the news constantly equating white with racist and their children are fed this (racist) lie every stinking day? If I was a kid in one of these schools, I’d probably hate myself, too.

The inner-city criminal element have now noticed that the rich suburbs are easy pickings with a huge reward filled with people torn by guilt and will bend over backwards not to oppose their predation.

Unless this is turned around soon, this will indeed hit the rural areas, too.

Years ago, people had plenty of guns, and schoolboys often took them to school for after class lessons and target practice. School shootings were unknown.

That so many happen today is not because there are more guns, or even that they’re more available (they’re not for youths), but the culture has changed teens into more barbaric, hateful, self-grievous caricatures who are told they are despicable white racists and what was once a proud people, eager to learn and take part in adult society, is in itself the root of racism.

Racism is what is killing America, but it is not coming from Caucasians.

Umm…the current business model of the shoplifters is nonviolent property theft of less than …what? $800-$1000 per offense. Amount varies from city to city and with revisions of the law to clamp down on these thefts. The criminals’ strategy is to keep the offenses at the misdemeanor level so that, on those rare occasions when they are arrested, they have very low or no bail release conditions. This how some of them rack up those incredible numbers of arrests. (Along with the connivance of legislators, prosecutors, judges, activists, etc.) (It’s just property! You got insurance. You gonna put someone in jail over bottles of shampoo?)

Armed robbery is a felony and big step up the serious crime ladder from simple shoplifting. In addition with increased legal penalties, introducing violence can lead to self-defense situations like the recent fatal shooting by that security guard in SF.
