There is an old saying that I would rather be Judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Kew Gardens? If Kitty Genovese had a gun, she’d be in jail today.

Even a pen can be used to kill someone. Anybody who gets stabby with anything deserves to be shot.

Queens District Melinda Katz charged Foehner with criminal possession of a weapon and a firearm. Investigators revealed he had a license for a shotgun and a rifle, but not for his pistol, and he did not have a concealed carry permit. Police said Foehner has no criminal history.

I know Melinda Katz. I've spoken with her before she became the Queens DA, when she was a NYC Councilwoman. She is 100% pure lib. And apparently she feels a citizen should be subject to getting mugged and possibly severely injured or even killed rather than discharge a G-U-N in their own defense. But the criminals do this at will, no problem. How sick is this? Just one of the reasons I left NYC.

Years ago I went to a talk given by an NRA lawyer. He said that the three worst 2A cities were New York City, Chicago, and DC. Even if you’re following every gun rule, the cops will still arrest you for just the hell of it.

You *might* be exonerated later. But in the meantime you’ll be spending some interesting time in a filthy city lockup.

Insanity reigns. As Ted Nugent once said, you don’t need a note from the government to defend yourself. Maybe the old guy should have taken a machete to that son of bitch to teach him and others a lesson.

It seems unbelievable that this 65 year old man will like go bankrupt defending himself a second time against the government, when clearly had he not had a firearm of his own, he likely would be carried by six, but instead is being tried by twelve.

We have long past the time for the SCOTUS to take one of these cases and settle it once and for all. The second amendment must be reaffirmed loudly and clearly. There has to be a stop to laws in the different states that violate any United States citizen’s right to OWN AND BEAR ARMS.

Period . . .

I know Melinda Katz. I've spoken with her before she became the Queens DA, when she was a NYC Councilwoman. She is 100% pure lib.

Because it was a Constitutionally-lawful self defense case, I'm sure she will look for a maximum sentence against Foehner.

Had Foehner been a street thug, she would plea bargain away the gun charge in exchange for a misdemeanor guilty plea on loitering.

The democrats wanted the man dead, and his belongings “redistributed” among the street savages who are so beloved to the democrats.
Just a question of “justice,” they think. The man was an “oppressor” and should have willingly given the savages what they wanted, and should not have resisted their violent attack.

That is the world the left wants for us.

Didn’t the City have a social worker on duty who could have handled this mugging equitably so it didn’t turn into The Wild West?

Just try getting a carry license in NYC. Unless you’re a celebrity, forget about it.

Unless you bribe high-ranking cops:

until such laws are declared unconstitutional, they exist

It seems the Supreme Court has addressed this several times but some States and Cities ignore their clear rulings by ignoring this Constitutionally protected Right.
