Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov has blasted Vladimir Putin's war tactics for not being 'brutal' enough amid his invasion of Ukraine and demanded that Russia declare martial law.
The strongman, previously seen as a close Kremlin ally, said the drone onslaught on Moscow this week showed a tougher response is needed from Russia's military that would see the war taken to NATO countries.
'Responses to such attempts to attack should not be harsh - they should be brutal,' Kadyrov said.
'In my opinion, it is necessary to declare martial law in Russia, to use all the combat resources intended for this, in order to sweep away this entire terrorist cell [in Ukraine] at once.'
It comes after Wagner mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin also demanded martial law across Russia amid speculation he may be acting with unidentified figures within Putin's circle in a bid to oust the despot.

Can't say that I'm convinced.
Kadyrov is a Chechen, not a Cossack.
“Remember, Russia doesn’t do proxy wars...”
Russia has a history of doing just that: For instance, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, just to name two.
But, that is not unusual, because proxy wars have been relatively common throughout history; and a lot of countries have waged proxy wars, including the US.
They also were involved in The Spanish Civil War.
“Those keeping track of events in Ukraine noted that about 8,000, or so, Russian ethnics were slaughtered shortly before Putin declared war.”
Well, I’ve been following this conflict for almost ten years; and your numbers are just flat-out wrong. The general consensus is that prior to February, 2022, some 14,000 people were killed in what for all practical purposes was a civil war in eastern Ukraine. Of that number, about 3,500 were non-combatant civilians, ethnic Russian and ethnic Ukrainian. The rest were combatants. That number does not include the 298 passengers and crew of flight MH17, a civilian airliner that was shot down by pro-Russia separatists using weaponry supplied by — and their crews trained by — Russia.
“They also were involved in The Spanish Civil War.”
Yup.
A reporter on the ground in Donetsk is reporting that Ukrainians are using HIMARS rockets against civilian targets. What they do is launch a few rockets, then wait a while until they believe that first responders (fireman, medics, rescuers) have responded, then they throw more rockets into that area to kill them. This is a violation of the Geneva convention.
But, hey, you believe whatever you want to believe.
I, for one, would be embarrassed to be supporting a leader wearing the insignia of the OUN which has ties to Nazism and ethnic cleansing.
In my view, Putin just wanted the Russian speaking areas of Ukraine. His objectives were limited. Those keeping track of events in Ukraine noted that about 8,000, or so, Russian ethnics were slaughtered shortly before Putin declared war.
Entirely wrong.
Just last week Putin personally denied the entire historical nationhood of Ukraine. Russian chauvinists like Putin think all of Ukraine is part of Russia and Ukrainians are just bad Russians.
That roughly 8,000 figure you are thinking of includes all those killed since Russia invaded Ukraine with its no insignia illegal army in 2014. Combatants, civilians on both sides, etc. Everyone.
And when Russia falls, Kadyrov will align with the Turks to finish the job.
Lack of uniformity also is a problem because of the variety of weapons issued to Ukrainian troops. Anti-tank weapons illustrates the dilemma. The photos below show a British NLAW and a U.S. Javelin missile. Both are designed to kill a tank, but the procedures a soldier must follow to fire a NLAW differs from a Javelin. The Javelin, for example, is equipped with an optic, the NLAW is not. I am not saying that a soldier cannot be trained to use both. Of course they can. But the reality is that these anti-tank weapons are being delivered to Ukrainian troops who have not had the opportunity to go through a training regimen to make them proficient in either or both.

It does not matter how brave or committed the Ukrainian troops are who will carry out the attack on Russian positions if the offensive is launched. If it comes, they will start with a deficit because they have been trained in different ways. More troubling is that the 12 brigades have not conducted a joint exercise where they have learned to carry out coordinated operations with the other units. Their task is made even more difficult because the attacking force will not have the close air support from combat jet and rotary wing aircraft. The Ukrainian units also are unlikely to have mobile air defense systems to fend off Russian aerial counter attacks. Ditto for mobile artillery.
The only hope for the Ukrainian troops tasked with this mission is that NATO intelligence has identified a weak point in the Russian defenses that can be exploited by the attacking force. If such a location exists, it is probably in an area with no significant population or urban centers. That means Ukraine will be capturing fields and forests and that will accomplish nothing that changes the tactical or strategic face of the war.
The German Wehrmacht, a much more powerful and well trained force than anything Ukraine can put on the battlefield, learned to their chagrin that lack of logistics and combat air support during the last days of Operation Barbarossa (which was launched in the summer of 1941) deprived them of victory. While the Nazis succeeded in driving to the suburbs of Moscow, they literally ran out of the fuel, supplies and reinforcements needed to maintain the momentum of their offensive.
Instead of executing a viable military strategy, Ukraine’s military is being asked to perform a political charade to satisfy Western expectations. Whatever success Ukraine achieves in the initial phase of its counter offensive, it lacks the depth in terms of reserves and materiel to sustain an attack. This is not a desperate gamble. This is forced suicide.
Never mind, that the Ukrainians employed open neo-Nazis or that they have used civilians as human shields, targeted civilians in Donetsk and shelled a nuclear power plant.

Nonsense, on all counts.
Said the Snake who ALWAYS Lies!
BTTT
It takes just a bit of common sense to figure out they simply do not have enough of HIMARS ammunition to waste it on the civilian targets.
Within the period between 25 and 30 December, 1 serviceman was injured. Within the period between 1 January and 30 December 2021, in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic, 129 people sustained injuries and traumas of varying severities as a result of armed aggression by Ukraine: 97 servicemen of the Republic and 32 civilians. Within the period between 25 and 30 December 2021, 1 serviceman died. Within the period between 1 January and 30 December 2021, in the territory of the DPR, 7 civilians and 70 servicemen of the Republic died as a result of the armed aggression by Ukraine. It should be noted that since the armed conflict began in the Donetsk People’s Republic, 5038 people including 91 children died.
I'm going to have to ask you to prove that accusation.
Pound Sand.
lol...Is this you trying to be funny?
