Russia supports Kosovo's Serbian population and believes their legal rights and interests must be protected, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
Peskov also said Moscow was following with concern the unrest in Kosovo, which has increased sharply since ethnic Albanian mayors took office in the country's northern Serb-majority area after votes last month.
"We support Serbia and the Serbs unconditionally... We consider that all legal rights and interests of the Kosovo Serbs must be observed," Peskov told a daily news briefing, adding that there must be no room for "provocative actions".
Serbs refused to take part in the local elections in April and ethnic Albanian candidates won the mayoralties in four Serb-majority municipalities with a 3.5% turnout.

So Putin’s trying to restart the Balkan War to divert NATO’s attention? What an openly Stalinesque move....he really could care less about all the bloodshed as long as he gets his beloved Soviet Union back.
In case people here don’t know, Serbia DOES NOT support the Grooming of children, which is a BIG REASON that the Neocons are trying to bring them to heel.
But it’s going to be fun, seeing the Neocons trying to fight a war against Serbia, considering that they’ve spent a huge portion of their weapons in Ukraine.
Russia is in no position to bark.
And the US already intervened against a Christian country for the poor beleaguered Muslims who were also committing horrific crimes against the Serbs. But the miltiary industrial complex doesn’t want you to know that.
Think of it as a mini-Ukraine.

- the USA could easily end it if it just went home
- Its just NATO empire-building outside its borders
- Serbs have a right to their identity
- Slavs don't want NATO there
Soooo... I guess we should be expecting Russian troops be conducting “joint training exercises that are totally not signs of aggression” with Serbia any time now?
Russias support of the serbs goes back to WWI. When the Austrian empire declared war on Serbia after the assignation of the Grand Duke Ferdinand and his wife Sofie, Russia was quick to declare war. It didn’t take long for all the major powers to mobilize/
It was France’s alliance with Russia that caused it. That’s why the Germans felt they had to attack France first, in order to free them up to attack Russia. Should have just let Germany and Russia fight it out, and stay out of it.

Really? I am puzzled why Ukraine is entitled to the integrity of its borders, but Serbia isn’t.
