'Republicans got outsmarted by a President who can't find his pants': GOP Rep. Nancy Mace joins growing list of at least TWENTY-SIX defectors voting 'NO' on Kevin McCarthy's debt ceiling 'debacle'

GOP Rep. Nancy Mace grew a swelling list of Republicans who are balking at the cost of the debt limit deal Speaker Kevin McCarthy cut with President Biden.

The debt limit deal includes $136 billion in budget cuts and suspends the debt ceiling until Jan. 1, 2025 - after the 2024 election.

Some of the opposed Republicans, who passed a bill last month - the Limit, Save, Grow Act - that would only raise the ceiling by $1.5 trillion, say the debt limit suspension goes beyond that is necessary and gives the Biden administration the ability to overspend for the next two years.

'Republicans got outsmarted by a President who can't find his pants. I'm voting NO on the debt ceiling debacle because playing the DC game isn't worth selling out our kids and grandkids,' Mace said in announcing her opposition to the deal Tuesday.

'This 'deal' normalizes record high spending started during the pandemic. It sets these historically high spending levels as the baseline for all future spending,' Mace sounded off on Twitter.

'After factoring in a small cut to discretionary spending over the next 2 yrs, we are still talking about ~$6T more or less in spending bc of large increases in spending elsewhere. In other words, it's a wash spending-wise.'

The deal also leaves non-defense discretionary spending flat in 2024 and allows for a one percent increase in 2025 - essentially amounting to cuts since inflation is not factored in.

Mace joins a list of at least 18 definite Republican no votes on the bill.

'After I heard about the debt ceiling deal, I was a NO. After reading the debt ceiling deal, I am absolutely NO!!' Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., wrote on Twitter.

'This 'deal' is insanity,' tweeted Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C.

Ever since the media liars rolled the Republicans on the government shutdown they have no spine for a game of chicken.

The media liars have convinced the squishy Republicans that shutting down the government will be a horrible disaster and *they* will get the blame for it.

Our side has no guts.

...this is from another web site....

GOP rep planning to oust McCarthy over debt deal.
Rep. Dan Bishop of North Carolina said Tuesday that he plans to trigger the formal process to remove House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, saying the “motion to vacate has to be done.”

Other Republicans hint at retaliation

Debt limit went up about $8 trillion under Trump. So both sides suck at checkbook balancing.

We need to eliminate every institution except the military.

They’re all useless and that includes every social programs out there including SS and you phase it out. I’m retired and collect it but it needs to go.

Raise the debt ceiling by 300 billion dollars. Call it a day. Do it again every 3 months until the Democrats agree to spending cuts. The Democrats have figured out their strategy. The GOP have failed (except when it came to overturning Roe vs Wade on the SCOTUS, notable exception).

The voters don’t want them to cut spending.

One man, Republican Thomas Massie could’ve killed it Committee, but Massie wanted to save Biden.

Massie blamed Inflammation on Trump just last week.

Republicans had numerous chances, but like subpoenaing Hunter - they want to protect the Swamp, first and foremost.

Do you see any Republicans defunding the FBi?

This is the game. They loathe the base but need your votes.

Six months ago Voters voted GOP to control the House.

Didn’t take them long to abandon their promises.

As the Media and White House correspondents do daily, they change transcripts, fix Biden’s quotes, and explain what he really meant when there is no way to know with certainty what he meant.

In that vein, McCarthy stepped up for an AWOL Biden and took it upon himself to save Biden.

He didn’t care about his base, or the promises made to Voters just six months ago, or to our Grandkids, but he pulled Joe’s bacon out of the fire, and ensured, for a time, the Media would celebrate the sacrifice and the betrayal he embraced to move Joe one step closer to re-election.

Which was the point.

The “No” numbers are growing. Apparently, representatives are hearing from their constituents (who are pissed). My representative put out the word that he wanted to hear from his voters. Apparently, he received an earful (he got a call from my household), and announced a little while ago that after reading the emails, and hearing the messages, and phone calls, he is a “No”.

They didn’t get “outsmarted”. The Republican party went along with it because they have the same goals as the Democrat party...the destruction of the United States of America.

McCarthy and Massie are definitely Pro-Spending and Huge Govt - and one thing proves it. They gave Biden his prize - no Debt Ceiling until after Joe’s Election, but the Vote takes place in a Holiday Lame Duck Session, where departing members and imbibing others always vote more freely lacking accountability.

So not only did they give away the store here, they set the table for future behemoth orgies.
