On Tuesday afternoon, Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, announced that the FBI refused to apply with his subpoena and thus he will be holding FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress. Chairman Comer is demanding that the FBI hand over a document that a whistleblower alleges documents President Biden's bribery scheme.
"Today, the FBI informed [GOP Oversight] that it will not provide the unclassified documents subpoenaed by the Committee," Comer announced in a tweet. "The Committee will now be taking steps to hold FBI Director Wray in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a lawful subpoena."

Defund and fire all of them, with no possibility of federal rehire.
Nothing will come of it.
EXCEPT - it will continue to destroy confidence in the DOJ and FBI by the US public and especially among conservatives. It is out in the open now, and nothing will change that. And that will eventually pay dividends.

Until the is an affirmative vote in the full House, there is no contempt.
Even then, if the DOJ declines to enforce, Congress has nuthin’.

If Comer and McCarthy aren’t careful, Garland and Wray might send 30 FBI agents to each of their homes to arrest them and perp-walk them into jail. After all, you can’t mess with the Biden DOJ and FBI. They are above the law.

I realize this is what Congress can and should do but does ANYONE think this will have ANY positive result?
The way it works is if a Republican is found in contempt by a Democrat Congress, charges will be promptly filed by the dem-led DOJ and since the offense occurred in D.C. the Republican will be quickly found guilty.
But it doesn’t work that way the other way round. A dem is found in contempt by a Republican Congress and the dem-led DOJ will decline to press charges and that will be the end of it. Meanwhile the DOJ is busy trying to round up 1000 people who attended a rally in DC on Jan. 6, 2021.

This is just a show to demonstrate how tough the GOP Congress is to take GOP voters mind off the budget “deal”. The GOP will cave later after they huff and puff and the budget deal passes.
Not yet just being added to the list take down all at once cut both nuts off at the same time it’s more effecitive.
