When I retired we looked very carefully at the property tax situation—and that is the reason we decided not to move to Texas.

Property tax is a critical line item in our budget—and we viewed it as a “high risk” one in Texas.

We had zero confidence that either the feds or the state would get the illegal invasion issue under control.

if it's high risk in TX, then I wonder what it is in NYS? :)

I knew the Texas property taxes were high, but they were still lower than the California state income tax plus property tax I was paying before.
