For those of you who think that Texas is a low tax paradise, it isn’t in regards to property taxes. My primary residence property tax is $17,000 a year. The majority of which goes towards the school district.
Phelan, the Speaker of the Texas House, is a jackass Rino. But Abbott is a governor of which any Texan could be proud.
“The border security call also does not include language regarding a border protection unit,“
Yeah it’s only the most important part of it by far. Abbott is way more Pence than he is Trump. It’s good he’s doing this but we need a fire breather.
17k? You live where?
I have 3 properties and not even close to that. Henderson County.
When I retired we looked very carefully at the property tax situation—and that is the reason we decided not to move to Texas.
Property tax is a critical line item in our budget—and we viewed it as a “high risk” one in Texas.
We had zero confidence that either the feds or the state would get the illegal invasion issue under control.
if it's high risk in TX, then I wonder what it is in NYS? :)
“Action?” Seriously? I thought.... “Action!” when they made the video of him declaring an invasion.... or a campaign video.
But you mean “action,” like he’s doing something? At the time it matters? In the way it matters to make a difference?
Austin. For the music and the food. You can find my house as it is the only one with the American flag out front. As an aside, a neighbor had an upside down very large Ukrainian Flag out front. It was comically upside down for weeks. The same neighbor also had “Riden With Biden” signs in his yard. He eventually righted the flag and removed the Biden signs.
I’ve been shopping houses to buy in TX. The property taxes stopped me like a pic of The View in Speedos.
Got my gloves on and saying “the damned property taxes are too damned high”
LOL. Thanks for the visual.
Looks to me like Gov. Abbott is a Man of Hat. Not a Man of Cattle.
I used to love Austin.
Stay safe Friend.

Abbott just figured out that property taxes here are high?
Texas Governors are very limited, as per the Texas Constitution. It can be a good thing sometimes...
But I don’t recommend Henderson County: we have rattlesnakes and wild hogs, scorpions, cactus, cotton mouth, copperhead, alligators, puma and sasquatch and lots of bull nettle and poison ivy. It’s horrible!
And the crows and Bluejays are very annoying.
I failed to mention the Black Widows and tarantulas and brown recluse spiders.
And bats, badgers, and fire ants and paper wasps, snapping turtles.
And it just gets plain freaking hot.
And yotes , skunks and whitetail playing chicken on the roads.
It’s bad, stay where you are!
