I think CORRUGATED cardboard is another money-maker.
Cardboard could also be a money maker for my town too.
I have not been directly involved with the transfer station for a few years. I just know it is worth pulling out. We are probably farther away from the card board paper plant than you.
However, I know that cardboard is now the largest volume of anything in the trash stream. We have two revolving containers on site. Where we only have one for everything else.
We really need a compactor for our aluminum cans. The dumpster they go in fills up with volume way before is does in weight. Same story with the container for mixed glass.
Back when Aluminum was around $4/lb my former towns transfer station was getting almost $25K for a full 25-30’ dumpster. It would take six months to fill it up. This was about 12-15 years ago.
