Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis attacked the bipartisan deal to raise the debt ceiling Monday, saying the country was “careening towards bankruptcy” and criticizing the “massive” amount of spending in the deal, as DeSantis’ top rival for the 2024 GOP presidential primary—former President Donald Trump—remains mum on the agreement.
In an interview with Fox News’ Fox & Friends, DeSantis aligned himself with some members of the hard-right House Freedom Caucus who do not support the agreement to hold non-military spending flat at 2023 levels—which many Republicans believed were too high.
DeSantis said the U.S. government’s spending habits have been out of control since the pandemic began, and argued that sticking with the Covid-19-prompted budget levels would be “totally inadequate” to get the country in a better spot.
“In Washington D.C. they do these cycles to just get them through the next election and that’s ultimately one of the reasons why they continue to fail,” DeSantis said of the debt ceiling during the Fox & Friends interview.

Desantis isnt consistant, he has yet to show me he has set morals and stances. He speaks on whatever side will win him his next bit of money or step up the ladder to importance/power. I dont trust him being govt employee so long and having so many swamp creatures endorsing him. Ultimately, he seems, its all about Ron.

Trump endorsed Romney-McDaniel to be GOP Chair. We keep losing.
Trump’s bad endorsements and hirings keep failing the nation.

DeSantis has openly talked about the corrupt DOJ and the need to change things.
DeSantis just a few days ago left the door open to pardoning Trump and the Jan 6 political prisoners, citing the corrupt DOJ.
DeSantis is standing up for morality against Disney, sacrificing their donations. Trump took over $10 million from Disney in 2020 (3rd largest donor) and has not supported DeSantis’ war on groomers.
I will take the man with principles over the guy who makes bad endorsements/hirings and places donations over children.
Trump is past his expiration date. He will do nothing to fix the Deep State as evidenced by his boy, McCarthy, selling us out on the debt ceiling bill.
With regard to globalists.....Trump is a globalist as well, exporting his golf courses all over the world. I sell products made in the USA globally, yet you denigrate that as if giving jobs to Americans is horrible.

I have repeatedly posted on FR that would be happy to vote for Trump if he wins the nomination, I also will happily vote for DeSantis if he wins the nomination, most of the Trump diehards would not do the reverse.
