The woke ‘Little Mermaid’ reboot completely bombed in reviews this weekend.
Disney’s live-action take on The Little Mermaid reportedly brought in $95.5 million globally in its three-day opening, according to Deadline.
However, the woke movie completely bombed in reviews – the bulk of the negative reviews were from overseas movie goers.
Critics blamed murky lighting and woke lyrics.
IMBD, Rotten Tomatoes and other online review-aggregation websites claimed online trolls are driving the bad reviews.
The bad reviews were actually tossed out in order to raise the final audience scores!
For example, IMBD said it published the “weighted vote averages” because not all votes are the same.
IMBD said: “Our rating mechanism has detected unusual voting activity on this title. To preserve the reliability of our rating system, an alternate weighting calculation has been applied.”

The Lighthouse with Willem Dafoe was a great mermaid film.
There was another a while back about some fishermen cutting the tail off a mermaid and nothing good came of that.

All you need to know to understand this was going to flop is the following.
The original movie was 83 minutes long
This version is 135 minute long
That’s right they added 52 minutes to an 83 minute movie, or it’s 60% longer than the original.
Now they need to make another remake...starring the likeness of Dylan Mulvaney...
WTF is IMBD?
As a good modern rule of thumb, movies must have a box office equal or greater than their budget after their opening long weekend.
Its budget is $200m, its opening is $117.5m
After its opening is when the criticism bites in earnest, so its b.o. is expected to flop.

It’s bombing internationally and the domestic numbers are not looking good beyond this weekend. Don’t believe anyone who tries to tell you otherwise. They are pushing Disney propaganda whether they realize it or not. This is a disaster for Disney and well deserved.

When they are manipulating the voting, you don't get real numbers. Same problem we had in 2020 and 2022.
According to articles i've read elsewhere it has to reach 500 million just to break even.
Other people have noted it will not likely do well in China or anywhere else in the Asian market.
That was just the production costs. I am told the marketing is usually double the production costs. An article I read earlier on another website said the movie had to crack 500 million just to break even.
