Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin[a] (Russian: Евгений Викторович Пригожин; born 1 June 1961) is a Russian oligarch,[4] mercenary chief, and a close confidant of Russian president Vladimir Putin.[5] Prigozhin is sometimes called “Putin’s chef”, because he owns restaurants and catering companies that provide services for the Kremlin.[6] Once a convict in the Soviet Union,[7] Prigozhin now controls a network of influential companies including the Russian state-backed mercenary company Wagner Group
He’s a chef not a butcher.
Wagner used convict troops to capture Bakhmut, despite taking enormous casualties.
He had 85,000 troops in Bakhmut. He left with 5,000. By his own admission.
