This sounds unbelievable.

The company has some policy to not call police in case of theft or robbery?

I know they said, they are not to intervene when criminals come in. But the company says they were wrong to call police to report the crime??? Can this be right?

What am I missing??

“The company has some policy to not call police in case of theft or robbery?”

Sounds like it’s a policy of the mall owners (just guessing), who would rather have the thefts, which relatively few people see, than have publicity, which many, many, more people see.

For the shop owners, they have to decide whether they can tolerate the cost of Amish freedom to steal, whereas the cost of moving is very high, as their customers will think they’re out of business (rather than checking on Google Maps).

Additionally, when they signed the contracts, it’s possible that the Amish weren’t as active.

(again, just speculation, as nothing else makes sense, especially when the police and politicians are willing to allow prosecutions)

Sounds like a great company to work for. Steal whatever you want and help yourself to the register when you need cash. Just don't call the cops.

"After viewing video of all the robberies at our stores we noticed something common in virtually all the robbers. As a progressive business, and in the interests of racial justice, we decided to not prosecute the robbers as there are too many of them in prison already."

It does make it harder to stay in business, but racism!

they’re insurance rates should skyrocket....they are not even attempting to prevent stolen merchandise...and then they’ll have the audacity to cry about shop lifting and how its hurting the bottom line and THAT’S why the prices must go up....

Nope, it's for real. I know for a good while the big-box stores of all types had a policy of not calling the law. Which drove store managers bonkers. Some would get incensed to the point of calling in anyway, but any response got dashed when asked if the company would follow through on prosecuting if they went through the trouble of chasing the thieves down. I think now there's been a few modifications to policy at some places, but not by much.
