Trump didn’t get a permanent fix through Congress regarding immigration (shifting the U.S. from “family unification” to a “merit-based” policy); but, in fairness, he did gain control of the border. In part, by building (including re-building) several hundred miles of physical barriers deterring illegal entry from Mexico; and, in part, by diplomatic agreements such as the remain in Mexico policy.

Regarding draining the swamp, no, he didn’t. This is going to require more than demanding the Director of the FBI swear personal loyalty. The government isn’t like the private sector where key employees can be fired at will. The President isn’t a dictator. He has to work with Congress; there are laws regarding civil service; and, many administrators (including the director of the FBI) are appointed and confirmed to fixed terms.

Instead of building on the Republican majority in the House, so as to continue to pursue reforms in the second half of his term, he lost the House in 2016 to Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats. He had poor relations with Republican leaders in Congress, often calling them names as though this is a way to work with people who aren’t subordinate to you. He went through staff like cr*p through a goose. And, all (?) of the skeletons in his closet eventually came to light.

Then there was 2020. For all of his leadership, even heroism, during the pandemic, his administration pushed a schizophrenic policy regarding COVID. Boris Johnson in the U.K. and Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil suffered similar fates. I should also mention that Trump’s administration and campaign were passive while governors and judges changed the election laws so as to facilitate vote-harvesting (when the U.S. Constitution reserves the process of appointment of presidential electors to the state legislatures).

Being president is ridiculously tough. Being governor of a small state like New Hampshire (Sununu) is hardly comparable. Even bring governor of a large state like California (Reagan), Texas (G.W. Bush) or Florida (DeSanctimonius or Meatball if you prefer), while a better perspective, is no guarantee of success.

Sununu’s not going to do that either.

But at least he could make Ann Coulter a little less lonely wherever she is.

What a liar.

The number of border crossings hit a 50-year low under Trump:

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/02/15/as-trump-moves-to-declare-national-emergency-to-build-wall-border-crossings-at-record-lows.html

There were 303,916 apprehensions along the southern border during the 2017 fiscal year, the lowest level since 1971.

He wasn't allowed to drain the swamp thanks to establishment Republicans like Sununu.

No, it’s not. It was a fact. In 2019, illegals were streaming into the country in record numbers. When all the lockdowns started, illegal immigration went down, and many illegals were forced to go back, because their jobs n9 longer existed because of the lockdown.

Even though Trump was encircled by corrupt government agencies who spent 4 years knifing Trump in the back and undermining him, all while the lying leftist media was blasting Trump with political artillery attacks 24/7, while members of his own party sought to politically assassinate him, Trump still should have secured the borders.

OR are we so effing stupid we can’t figure out prior to Trump the professional lawyer politicians did nothing but give us lip service and lies about the border for 50 GD years?

It’s Trumps fault! So there ya have it!

How little got done?

His policy gave us the lowest unemployment rate in 50 years without the 40-year high in inflation.

He puts judges on SCOTUS that overturned Roe.

Border crossings were at 50-year low.

We become a net exporter of oil for the first time in 50 years.

We didn't get involved an unnecessary war.

That is helluva lot in the face of overwhelmingly opposition by Democrats, the media and Republican establishment.

Trump is GOPe...That's why the GOPe was complicit in rigging 2020 election, doing the same in 2022 and doing everything it can to undermine him now.

Only someone who is GOPe would make that comment about Trump.

The Deep State is worldwide, and very, very, very powerful. Anyone who think they can “drain the swamp” or “get rid of the DS”, is delusional.

Who cares?

Why sweat the details when there's so much cool imagery to savor?

The border was headed in the right direction. The swamp will not be drained. It is an idea, not a person.

Sununu: Trump Did Not Drain the Swamp or Secure the Border

Breitbart as USUAL offers a MISLEADING headline.

I could not FIND anywhere in its reporting where Sununu used the term “swamp”.

I DOUBT if that was a direct quote and I certainly don’t have a cable subscription to CNN to verify if that was a direct quote.

Those born into the swamp like he was, generally stray from using the term swamp.

After Trump’s inauguration, the next words out of McConnell’s mouth after declaring the wall was “dead on arrival” were words chiding Trump for using the term “swamp” to refer to DC.

McConnell was offended by the term swamp as he should have been as he EPITOMIZES the swamp at least from the GOPe wing of the Uniparty.

If Sununu used the term swamp, I’m sure he’ll get a memo telling him not to use it any more.

Breitbart is reverting to its old form when it pushed Cruz until Cruz threw in the towel if he ever did, as he hadn’t thrown in the towel at that 2016 convention when Trump graciously gave him a prime time speaking spot and Cruz like the true loser that he was, refused to use the time to publicly endorse the nominee as he had promised to do by raising his hand at the first GOP debate in 2015.

Anyway, I believe Breitbart is putting words in Sununu mouth that he didn’t utter. A “quote” in a headline should be confirmed in the body of the story.

Shame on Breitbart.

They hate Trump.. he never was one of them. On either side of the aisle. They did not accept a man coming from his own abode to run for the office.. to save our nation from the rabid dogs in congress snd government.

They counted themselves as above this guy from NY.. making an entrance as Trump can... beautiful wife, kids not druggies.. the man fit for the job..
The powers that be, rejected him.
They reminded me of a circle of girls who saw this new girl comong toward them.
Dont let her in...

If Sununu thinks he’s helping DeSantis, he’s more removed from reality that I even thought.
