Funny story about the Banditos a few years ago.
Wife and I were staying at a casino just North of Santa Fe. A bunch of Banditos showed up. They just wanted rooms. A clerk ran up to the manager and and said, “Los Banditos esta aqui.” The Banditos are here. The manager went out and asked what they wanted. They said, “they wanted to stay in the hotel casino and asked if cash is good,” The manager said, “cash is good.”
Oddly when I saw them in the casino they were no longer wearing their colors and just seemed like other guests.
This post is not in defense of the Banditos, they do bad things. It is just an observation of what happened. Upon leaving we were at a filling station for fuel as were some of the Banditos and my wife was nervous. I told her you are now in the safest filling station in New Mexico unless we are a rival and were are not.
Me too but some bikers just prefer fighting
Odd. Biker Clubs are (have always been) rough and violent, but this behavior is unusual. Their violent is much more quiet and out-of-view.
This is more like ghetto in-your-face crime.
Haven’t they kind of taken over already?
“Haven’t they kind of taken over already?”
Think the level of violence in Mexico. The Southwest is not a narco-state, yet. If it was there would be no drug selling biker gangs left.
It’s what happens when third world colonizes USA
Sorry bikers, but the actions of a few have manifest as consequences for the majority.
Damper for sure. I’m about 7 blocks from Atlantic Beach and the noise is staying to within about just 2 blocks of it this year. Far less motorcycle mileage, noise and no street donuts all over as in the past due to the rain and wind. Lots of businesses closed for “maintenance” but its more economical to close than not getting tips or driven into bankruptcy if you’re an all-you-can-eat buffet. The weather is obviously being racist.
I remember when they came through Farmington NM back in 1975. They piled into a store west of town and within minutes there was a Farmington cop there. No problems.
I always remember one had on a dirty denim jacket and his mustache was about three inches long on each side and braided like pig tails.
I should mention the gang in 1975 were all white guys.
I used to go to the Red River bike meet in the 70’s when I lived in Amarillo.
One year my buddy and I were sitting on our bikes behind some local ladies.
One of them turned around and said “Texans huh? Why don’t you go back to Texas?”.
Guess they didn’t know if it weren’t for us Texicans skiing, fishing, camping, etc., Red River wouldn’t exist.
Taos is also a big tourist town. Skied there a lot, my favorite place. Lots of steep downhill. Moguls, narrow runs, trees, glades. 12,500 feet at the top.
Be sure to accimate if you go there. Altitude sickness is no fun.
I remember going through Ruidoso years ago. They had a big sign out..WELCOME TEXANS! They knew where their money came from.
Water Dogs vs Bandidos
The deceased have been identified as the following:
Anthony Silva (26 years old from Los Lunas) – Member of the Bandidos Motorcycle Gang
Randy Sanchez (46 years old from Albuquerque) – Member of the Water Dogs Motorcycle Gang
Damien Breaux (46 years old from Socorro) – Member of the Bandidos Motorcycle Gang
Brian got busted on a narco rap
He beat the rap by rattin’ on some bikers
He said, hey, I know it’s dangerous
But it sure beats Riker’s
But the next day he got offed
By the very same bikers

“Decoration Day.”
I was born on May 30, 1946 which was Memorial Day. My mother didn’t at first remember why the medication . green jello and drink trays all had little American flags on them.
As a child I used to consider the lavish parades in my area as part of the celebration on my birthday.
First ceremony in honor of the fallen was in 1868:
“We do not know one promise these men made, one pledge they gave, one word they spoke; but we do know they summed up and perfected, by one supreme act, the highest virtues of men and citizens. For love of country they accepted death, and thus resolved all doubts, and made immortal their patriotism and their virtue.”
– James A. Garfield, May 30, 1868, Arlington National Cemetery
Fine let them have at it as long as no innocents get hurt.
My Buddy’s grandson’s birthday is 7/7. They always had a cookout on the Fourth for extended family and friends and I’d save some fireworks for the B-day. For many years that boy thought he had two birthdays.
