I think it’s a mistake, and a lost opportunity, to describe these as “conservative boycotts”.

This stuff disgusts all normal people, including many who would reject the label “conservative”.

This is how you begin to break up the solidarity of the liberal coalition. There are lots of people who sign on in order to advance a particular cause or belief, but don't subscribe to the more whacked-out philosophies of some members. This may very well be the issue that drives them away.

Unfortunately the media describes them as conservative boycotts because they want it to look like a fad that will die off when those crazy rednecks lose their attention because they are not that smart, so goes the narrative. They don’t want normal people to think that it is about normalcy. They want it to be about religion.
