President Joe Biden remains the leading contender for the Democratic nomination in 2024, but his primary opponents have carved out significant bases of support, presenting a hurdle for the president should their candidacies linger.
Biden claimed the support of 60% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters in a CNN poll published Thursday. By contrast, challengers Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Hollywood guru Marianne Williamson claimed 20% and 8%, respectively.
In additional bad news for Biden, majorities of those groups expressed openness to both of his challengers, with 64% open to RFK Jr. and 53% willing to consider Williamson. The outlet noted that RFK Jr. benefitted considerably from his last name and fond voter recognition of his family's past political figures.
Overall, one-third of Americans, 33%, said Biden winning would be a step forward for the U.S. will two-thirds said it would be a "setback or disaster" for the country. The president further earned a 40% approval rating in a different CNN poll published this week.
Conducted by SSRS from May 17-20, the CNN poll questioned 1,227 adults and has an overall margin of error of +/- 3.7% while the sample of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters has a margin of error of +/- 6.2%.
All the more disgusting when we remember on this Memorial Day weekend many thousands of Americans gave their lives to protect the freedoms of other Americans. Pray that we never re-institute the draft, and give these losers weapons training.
Let’s have a three-way floor fight at the DNC Convention. He’ll beat Jimmuh’s record of a two-way floor fight with Teddy.
The fraud voters.
My wife and I are thinking about switching parties just so we can vote in the Dem primary next year, anybody but Brandon.
I wouldn't be surprised since you have already switched churches.
