DHS funds program that classifies Republican Party as "far right extremist" organization with links to Nazis

The DHS has a program that identifies groups involved in “violence and terrorism.” It makes grants to organizations to identify groups and monitor what they are doing. Makes sense. Part of their job is preventing terrorism, and you have to know your enemy and follow what they are doing.

Among the groups identified by the University of Dayton involved in “far-right radicalization” are the Heritage Foundation, Fox News, and the Republican Party. Quillette and Dennis Prager’s “Prager U” are even more extreme, just shy of the Nazi Party according to their classification of an “extremism” pyramid. Breitbart, Turning Point USA, and of course, MAGA are similarly identified.

In other words, the DHS is funding a project that identifies the Republican Party and every conservative as Far Right Radicals.

This explains a lot, including the raid on President Trump’s home by agents wielding assault rifles. They were worried that a shootout might occur with the ultimate MAGA radical.

This revelation comes via the ever-helpful Media Research Center. which rightly argues that heads should roll. Lumping together all Republicans into the same category as Nazis and terrorists is a bold move indeed.

🚨BREAKING MRC REPORT🚨 Biden’s DHS uses your tax dollars to weaponize against Christians, conservatives, and the GOP https://t.co/fHbtKX4EW1

At least they have put their cards on the table. You can give them credit for that.

The Media Research Center, a conservative watchdog group, obtained documents through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests showing a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program meant to fight terrorism is funding a group whose work has explicitly targeted the American political right. The MRC outlined its findings in a report, arguing what the group found warrants criminal prosecution.

“This terrorism task force is engaged in an active effort to demonize and eliminate Christian, conservative, and Republican organizations using federal taxpayer dollars,” said Brent Bozell, founder and president of the Media Research Center. “What we have uncovered calls for criminal prosecution. The American people need to know those who are abusing their positions in the federal government will be held accountable for their criminal behavior.”

DHS’s Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program (TVTP) provides funds to various public, private, and non-profit institutions — such as universities and county governments — “to establish or enhance capabilities to prevent targeted violence and terrorism.” Grant applicants must be based in the U.S. and implement a U.S.-based program.

Democrats often refer to Republican legislative tactics as “terrorism,” and you thought that was just a metaphor.

Not according to the DHS, apparently. They mean literal terrorists, apparently. As in the guys the DHS suggests getting hit by drone strikes. Although President Biden usually refers to killing conservatives by F-15, not drones.

One such grantee was the University of Dayton for its PREVENTS-OH program, which DHS awarded $352,109 to “draw on the expertise of the University of Dayton faculty” to fight “domestic violence extremism and hate movements.”

The university’s grant application submitted to DHS linked in a footnote to a controversial Dayton conference where an academic researcher presented a chart titled the “Pyramid of Far-Right Radicalization.”

Among the organizations and movements displayed on the pyramid were the Republican Party, the Heritage Foundation, the American Conservative Union, Fox News, Breitbart News, the National Rifle Association, PragerUniversity, Tea Party Patriots, the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, the pro-police Blue Lives Matter movement, and the Christian Broadcasting Network.

The Christian Broadcasting Network. Just a few months ago we learned that the FBI was recruiting confidential human informants to spy on Catholic Churches.

The Democrats deride the accusation that they are weaponizing government. So what do they call this? The intimidation of Taibbi? The trumped-up Crossfire Hurricane investigation? The FBI coverup of Hunter Biden’s laptop and the firing of investigators looking into his relationships with the Chinese Communist Party and other foreign agents?

They call it business as usual. Because we are “terrorists.”

Republicans are going through what promises to be a contentious, even nasty primary battle over who our nominee will be in 2024. I have read and seen a lot of Republicans saying that if their candidate loses they will sit out the 2024 election.

That is nuts. Doing so is handing even more power over to the Left. If you think Biden’s first term has been destructive, just wait to see what he has in store once he doesn’t face reelection.
