He’s basically where I’m at. I think Trump probably wins the nomination any way. But I will vote for DeSantis in the primary because I haven’t seen Trump say anything to attack the left in about 6 month. He spends all his time attacking DeSantis.
The Republican nominee needs to be someone who wins the nomination by fighting the left, not someone trying to win the nomination in order to fight the left.
All the people performing mental gymnastics on this site defending Trump are trying to justify him doing the latter, and it doesn’t work for me.
You evidently haven’t been to any Trump rallies or failed to watch the CNN Town Hall. Ron DeSantis is a disloyal user—being involved in politics and owning my own business I have had to deal with my share of these types of people. I have honed my ability to spot one a mile away. Ron DeSantis is the poster child for a user.
DeSantis, the night of his victory in 2018 he didn’t mention Trump’s name and has not done so since. Yes Trump has attacked DeSantis, but RDS has done the ultimate attacking by running against him.
The above columnist is one of those that supported Trump only as a last resort and evidently has reveled in his defeat in 2020 (failing to admit it was obviously stolen). In addition I believe Ron and Kemp won in 2022 because they were “allowed to win,” and to diminish Trump’s influence.
